2.7.0.4625 Open Beta crash at second mission load

As the title says I get DCS to crash everytime when I try to load mission for the second time, it doesn't have to be exact same mission.

First time it will always load fine and work without issues.

EDIT: Issue is actually not occuring everytime you launch the game but is much more likely to happen than working fine.

I only have folder named DCS there, I deleted it, issue remains.

I looked at the logs it points to a broken usage of d3d11.dll, game is trying to access stuff that isn't there anymore on the second load by the looks of it

 

EDIT: just checked, DirectX is up to date

The address was changed some time ago. Please make sure you're looking into "...\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta" instead of "...\Local\DCS.openbeta".

 

When DCS OpenBeta loads a mission, it unpacks it the "C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta" folder.

Launch a mission and check this folder. You should see something like this:

If you don't, that's weird.

Now that we've solved the mystery, you can try emptying this folder, and then see if DCS still crashes when loading a mission twice.

Already did that 🙂 issue remains 😞

Don't know if it was clear that I can reopen the game after crash and again load any mission without issues, but second try will crash it again

OK. I can't find a previous crash report dealing with "D3D11CoreCreateDevice". This looks new from DCS perspective.

I tried to reproduce from my end but I can't. What mission are you using for your test exactly?

After adding back my old user data to the SavedGames/DCS folder it started crashing again.

 

I found out it was something in the old Config folder that is causing it, I only transfered my old per jet inputs, inputuserprofiles, snapviews and options.lua

Everything is working now.

 

Thanks everyone for the help, if others have the same issue now we know where to look for 🙂

just now, second attempt with the mission (after dcs fail), i fly 20' without any troubles ! the DCS channel map seem to be more optimized, graphics & clouds are sweet , no significant  fps drops ( wth cpu 6700k, gpu 1080,16 gb ram, res 1920x1200 natve res of my monitor 60hz

Those are 100% safe to save in my case, there is probably only 1 file in that whole Config folder that is creating some conflict but currently I don't have energy and time to find out which specific one it is 🙂

 

EDIT: those 4 were just most important to me so I tested it with them first and got it working

I deleted the "options.lua", and it worked.

I have the same crash but you guys are talking about different folders in different areas but I'm unclear what the actual fix is. exactly which folder should be deleted.

It's something in C:\Users\yourusername\Saved Games\DCS\Config folder that is causing the crash.

Sadly it seems that issue is random and sometimes game will launch and work perfectly and sometimes it will crash at second mission load multiple times in a row independent of options.lua, we are at square one.

 

EDIT: At least it works when you first start a mission so, it's not completely broken 😄
