In the last 24 hours, the game has routinely crashed or locked up to the point that I have to hard-kill the program. I can usually play one single player mission without an issue, and then when I try to load another mission, the game locks up during loading. I am forced to Alt-Tab and kill the program, or restart my computer. I've attached my crash logs here. Appreciate any help you can provide to resolve this. I have done a verify in Steam, but to no avail. Just to clarify - would unofficial mods include the A-4? I assume so. Also, would using a post-processing injector like Reshade be considered a "mod". Good intel. I'll also see which Nvidia driver I'm using when I get back to my computer. I updated my drivers a week or so ago. I don't recall which driver I am running specifically. There may be a newer driver that I have neglected to download. Separately, I play single-player almost entirely, so it seems to not be isolated to single or multi. I just wanted to report this. It’s all good and I’m sure it will all smooth out. Thanks for a fantastic new DCS and it really takes my breath away at times...the clouds ... not the crashes Cheers ! jfnelson0127 Posted April 17, 2021 Author Share Posted April 17, 2021 Update: I updated my Nvidia drivers to 4.66 (released this week) and deleted the only unofficial mod I had, which was the community A-4E. I also ran a repair through Steam. I played through a few single missions with no errors. But alas, I ended up having the game lock up and I had to hard-kill it in the device manager. Attaching my crash report here. I hope this doesn't come off like aimless complaining. I appreciate the effort that goes into this sim and hope this feedback is productive in finding solutions. Has anyone else heard of any fixes to the crashes? I honestly don't think it's Reshade, but if anyone has heard that it is causing crashes in 2.7, please let me know, because I do have it loaded. The game seems blocked when trying to create shader textures. It seems some files are missing or are wrong. If you have an mods installed, first uninstall them, then run a new repair. Thanks! No mods installed, and I have turned off all Reshade filters. I can try to fully uninstall Reshade too. Do you think this could be the problem? One other point of interest - Just flew several single missions on different maps with no issues. Only change was that I turned off SSAA. It had been set to 1.5. Please ensure your DCS.exe file properties have “Full screen optimisations disable” option off: Browse to "F:\SteamLibraryF\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\" Right click the "DCS.exe" file, click Properties, then click Compatiility tab. “Full screen optimisations disable" must be unticked @HavremonsterSorry, your crashlog is unreadable due to a bug in current 2.7 version. I'm considering using DDI to scrub my drivers for a fresh Nvidia driver install. Considering how many topics I'm seeing on this, I'm honestly starting to get the sense that this isn't a "me" problem. I hope the ED guys are digging into our crash logs. I'll continue to send them as long as it's helpful. DCS loading logo displays along with "verification" message, then about two minutes later game crashes; no "error log" is displayed. Thank you.
