Megalax
There is a lighting issue where a seam appears down the spine of the Hornet under certain lighting conditions. 1 Megalax's Livery Studio My Liveries in the User Files I'll stick a maple leaf on anything... Zeagle
I don't think it's a lighting issue. That looks like a 3d-modeling issue to me...As in someone for got to merge the verts...
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 18, 2021 ED Team Share Posted April 18, 2021 If possible attach a short track replay showing an example, I will report it then. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Megalax
I should specify that the first screenshot is from the Model Viewer. The second one is in game. I don't see how a track will help, but sure I can make one. Megalax's Livery Studio My Liveries in the User Files I'll stick a maple leaf on anything... Texac
I believe it's a normal texture issue. It's not just on the spine but also below the cockpit where the ejection warning labels are placed. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •

Texac
I take my previous post back by looking at the textures. It looks more like a 3d model issue as Zeagle pointed out. The model was also updated with 2.7, the textures were not. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
kr0nik
Can confirm, the issue is incredibly immersion breaking. The sooner a fix arrives the better.

Zeagle
Does it occur only on certain textures? Maybe it's a texture mapping error.
RavenJJ
It's visible the most using model viewer, even with a default lighting, especially when View->Draw mode is set to Diffuse. Visible in all liveries, even those that change normal maps. Also visible in certain lighting conditions in the sim.

Texac
@BIGNEWY Can you tell us why tracks are of any use even for such a lightning issue? Is it to verify that users don't use any shader mods, or modified textures, etc.? Track file attached. K Slop Rose
Hmm, somehow the post seemed to eat my replay. Anyway, above pics are from base F-18 model, though they are present on every livery I've tried. Seam is visible on F1 and F12, but is not visible on F3, F4, F5, or any other key except base and Cockpit GI. Visual mod turned off for the picture. This is how it looks both in model viewer and in game.
