reported Old fullscreen mode (pre 2.7)

Can we get the old (pre 2.7) full screen mode back please?

Or the option to select this mode again?

 

2 monitor setup, one for DCS, the other for info (or whatever):

 

Before 2.7:

Full Screen mode on the primary monitor stays full screen when moving the mouse over to the second monitor and clicking on something.

 

After 2.7:

Full screen mode on the primary monitor goes minimized when moving the mouse over to the second monitor and clicking on something.

 

"Solution" is to go Windows borderless mode which works but with a negative impact on performance (10-15 FPS).

 

There's a topic over at Multi-monitor bugs & problems which is marked as solved where the solution is to switch to borderless mode but that is not a 100% solution because it comes with a performance impact of 10-15 FPS.

Please fix this...now i have problem that DCS starts minimized, and i can't maximize - i see icon in taskbar, hear the music from DCS but cant maximize it..I have to to the end task thing and restart it

Yep, i had the same problem yesterday with the latest OB, while doing briefly something different, it minimized and it was impossible to maximize again.

Just as hreich, the only way out was killing the DCS task and restart.

Just thought Id also reply with the same fault.

I have an Ultrawide Centre Screen (Main)  with 2 smaller screens either side.

However

When I  "Uncheck" fullscreen, DCS re-starts over on my RHS monitor in the Ultrawide settings. Mostly off the screen.

When I "Check" fullscreen,  DCS re-starts normally back on my Centre screen but with the Minimize bug.

Came across this thread topic by pure chance, and very grateful that I did.
Although as yet there has not been found a cure, it is some comfort to note I'm not the only player with this issue.
For me, it was noticed following the 2.7 update.
Almost sent myself nutty trying to fix it as a windows problem. (2.7 DCS was same(ish) time as big windows10 update)

I will follow this thread and hope that ED will be able to help.

 

Ps ED could you please send me your credit card details to allow me the reimbursement of huge quantities of coffee consumed whilst going in circles with this issue as raised above

This is a really annoying bug:

if I uncheck "full screen" - I have to match the game resolution with my screen resolution -> enforcing me to run DCS on 4K, which is give around 40-50 FPS on my rig.

If I check "full screen" I can use a lower resolution - @K - and I am getting 60-90 FPS. Any click on my second screen (Teamspeak, Whatsapp, or even PDF viewer of the airport map) minimizes the main full screen of DCS. This is a non-option.

If I uncheck "full screen" and use a lower resolution, and also click alt+enter, I am getting a full screen with the right FPS on my 4K screen. This introduces a different bug - the mouse pointer position is not calibrated and the cockpit is not clickable anymore.

 

So there is no winning outcome - all option are bad.. I just need the select the least worst option.

 

ED - Please assist.

I had the exact same problem. My fix was to lower my monitor resolution in windows display settings to 2k (2560 x 1440) and adjust the game resolution to the same (2560 x 1440). Now when I click the second screen all is well. Also the mouse clicks line up in the cockpit. If I alt enter to display full screen frames increase a little too. My old eyes do not seem to notice much difference in picture quality.

This problem still persist as to this day. It got introduced since the first 2.7 release and is still around...

Was about to report the same...

 

ok... now mine works as expected. unchecked full screen and cursor confined to game window. Can now click between displays without DCS minimzing
