DCS problem's crashing and game freezing

dcs.log is not that big - it's a few KB in size - we can't help without that. It's usually here:

C:/users/[username]/saved games/dcs/logs/

C : is your system drive

Drag the file into the forum window when answering.

1. I'd start with setting much bigger fixed size page file for system (even like 32000 MB in the settings for min and max size)

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10,36929.html

2. Then I'd try installing recent stable (GRD) nVidia drivers.

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

3. Then, as a last resort, try this registry fix:

Does it work in 2D without a crash?

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind combat pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

The crash is a display driver crash.

GTX 970 is low end for VR.

Ensure windows and all drivers are up to date, particularly your graphics driver. Make sure your pagefile is set high enough also.

thanks

Right, but my 970 allows me to play in VR for hours. Only crashes are standard "2nd mission load crash in 2.7".

Whats GTX 970

That's your graphic card in your PC. It's a bit too weak for VR but I have the same one and it can manage.

The log you have sent is from January. If you changed your hardware, please upload dcs.log from current version.

Your current graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - this is high end modern card - more than enough to play DCS in VR.

Your Windows page file is still tiny: Pagefile: 1763 MB - so you did not fix that.

The main error still stands: ERROR   DX11BACKEND: DX device removed. Reason: 0x887A0005, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

It can be caused by multitude of reasons:

- graphic driver (you said you tried different one, currently installed is 46627.r466_23)

- faulty card (it's probably new, I wouldn't suspect it) or doesn't get enough power from cables and motherboard

- faulty PSU (is your power supply unit new and has enough power)

...

What's with that failed authorization on many modules and maps? Are they left overs from trial versions or bought and then disabled by you?

gents thanks for replying

Everything in the  computer is brand new,

wouldn't know how to overclock

your right i didn't change the page size because it asked me to log in as an administrator and I don't know how to do that and I forgot to ask

I think the Failed authorisations are from when i did an update for the free week from Eagle and could try all the modules. kept forgetting my log in details i think

You can remove the modules you don't own in the Module Manager to save space or keep them and wait for another free trial period.

Windows usually asks for admin password if needed. If you don't know one you have to ask administrator or the one who installed the system.
