sublime
I noticed on the vids the Raduga sight (I assume) panning around under the chin of the helo has 'doors' that seem to cover and protect it. What do they open only when it's in use to protect it? Anyone have info on it? They seemed to open and close several times
molevitch
The doors are opened by the Co-Pilot/Operator when using the ATGM Periscope Sight. The doors are there to protect it from damage and dirt. 1 SCAN Intel Core i9 10850K "Comet Lake", 32GB DDR4, 10GB NVIDIA RTX 3080, HP Reverb G2. foxbat155
Raduga-Sh have two pairs of doors for lens protection, first (visible from outside) are made from metal, then second pair made with armoured transparent glass. Lace
Ever seen the state of your windscreen after a drive on a summer day? These aircraft operate at very low level. Lenses stay covered and bug free when not in use. Same reason TGPs are stowed on the ground, damage and bug splats can really degrade performance. 1 Laptop Pilot.
