bkthunder
Hi, with a clean F-14B and standard day (15 degrees, no wind), I can reach mach 1.5 at MIL. That is, I never had to engage the A/B, just MIL power all the way to Mach 1.5. I know the F-14B could supercruise just above Mach 1, but Mach 1.5? That's F-22-like supercruise. So I'm reporting this as a bug. 3 Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s

MisterVince
Could you please give more details about your flight ? What altitude ? Was it in a dive ? No loadout I assume ? Still very surprising. draconus
I can confirm. Tested level flight in clean F-14B (no gun ammunition, no stores, full internal fuel) @MIL power, 25k ft, 15 deg. C day and no wind, it slowly gets to almost M1.5 - the fuel is @13.0 then. And specially for @Donut - same test with empty bags - it gets to M1.1 only. Edit: this is just to confirm the numbers - I don't know about real aircraft performance Edited June 9, 2021 by draconus 2 2 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX3060 Rift S T16000M TWCS TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Skysurfer
Yeah it's fairly whack ever since they touched transsonic drag. The FM rework can't come soon enough imho.
AH_Solid_Snake
In a clean configuration its not surprising the B can supercruise once you get up to 25k, although whether 1.5 is realistic I'm not sure
draconus
From wikipedia: Quote Supercruise is sustained supersonic flight of a supersonic aircraft with a useful cargo, passenger, or weapons load without using afterburner (also known as "reheat"). Many 4th generation fighter jets are technically capable of supercruise, but only at high altitudes and in a clean configuration. For an aircraft to be deemed capable of true supercruise, it must be able to carry a normal load for an extended distance without diving or using an afterburner. Optimally, qualifying for "true supercruise" would involve demonstrating the ability with a combat load at low to medium altitudes; being able to break Mach 1 without afterburner does not in itself show supercruise ability. Donut
Yeah, not too surprising while clean, but no way of telling without HB acknowledgment on this...they seem to have disappeared lately though from posts concerning the FM. I tested this as well and get the same results. As draconus pointed out, I find it interesting that the drop tanks seem to have an appropriate drag effect here, while as in my test from another post, they don't. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
