No, we have planned to develop the AS-20 missile for all G.91s and to include it in DCS World as we have already done with other weapons (BAT-120, BAP-100 and Durandal) for MB-339

Hooray for mini RB-05s!

Has plans to add the italian rocket launchers and rockets?

I imagine many/all will be already done for the MB-339, right?

type of vehicle landing and take-off areas:

FLYNG FIELD or AEREODROME.. taliano CAMPO DI VOLO or AEREODROMO.

AVIOSUPREFICIE (italiano) AVIO SURFACE (english) airfields.also makeshift fields in italy lenguagge campo di fortuna.

AIRBASE - BASE AEREA AEREOPORTO AIRPORT MILITARY AIRPORT AEREOPORTO MILITARE.

this is a list of tipology of landing and take off opertating area. are much much different tyopology.

Yes, it doesn't have to be paved, but it DOES have to be prepared.

This is good.

This is bad.

WWII fighters are light enough and slow enough they can land in fields in just a few hundred feet, but there's a big difference between a 6,000lb plane that needs 1000ft and takes off at 100kts, and a 50,000lb plane that needs 4,000-6,000ft and takes off at 200kts. If you want to land in a meadow you use a helicopter, that's what they're for 😉

ok the fiat g 91 weighed 5000 kg which is 110000 lbs. however the accident factor also depends on the type of trolley if it is resistent and sufficiently cushioned with hydraulic systems and also depends on the type and size and stability of the tires such as those as big as a SU25 truck to land on the grass is possible.

To be fair, the G91R (which is the size of a ww2 fighter and weights ~6800 lb empty) was indeed designed to fly from relatively unprepared fields, so on paper it should do better than say a Viper there, and it would be neat if DCS could reflect that capability.

There's even a whole section in the flight manual describing how landing distance changes if you're landing on ice, a wet or dry hard surface, wet or dry grass, and with or without emergency breaks. Depending on conditions you get something in the range of ~500 to 800 meters on a normal surface, plus a factor ~2-3 times more than that on ice, ~0.7 lower with emergency breaks, and ~1.5 times worse with no drag chute. It's no Harrier, but it's not terribly different from e.g. a Viggen either.

I love aircrafts of this era, would have prefered a Hawker Hunter, but this one is close enough 👍

Hopefully its development will be quick. Best regards.

G.91 will be an interesting addition to DCS…

A Hawker Hunter would also be great 😉

Today, June 2nd 2021, is the 75th Anniversary of the Italian Republic - and we thought there was not a better day to announce our second commercial project for DCS - since, in real life, it was one of the biggest successes of the Italian aerospace industry.

DCS G.91

The G.91 is an Italian jet fighter aircraft of Cold War era designed and optimized for Strike and Recon missions. The G.91 originates in the NATO NBMR-1 competition in 1953, which sought a light fighter-bomber "Light Weight Strike Fighter" to be adopted as standard equipment across the air forces of the various member nations.

The G.91 was declared winner of the competition in 1958 and entered into operational service with the Italian Air Force in 1961, and with the West German Luftwaffe in the following year. It was also evaluated by the U.S.Army and adopted by Portuguese Air Force, who made extensive use of the type during the Portuguese Colonial War in Angola and Mozambique.

We will develop the following version: R1B (Italian version), R3 (German Version) and PAN (aerobatic version converted from the A version).

We have no release window at the moment - and needless to say screenshots are preliminary.

The G-91R4 did fly combat mission in Guinea and mozambique.

Great news! I love this plane.

Will be able to carry A/A missiles?

For the records, the AIM-9B was tested only on the R4 variant without success.

It was used on the G-91R3 with the Portugese Air Force.
