I'm running 2 projectors and a Main panel monitor of a single GTX1080, this provides reasonable FPS. eventually will purchase the 3090 when things calm down.
I'm planning to add additional monitor for devices, I'm going to stay within limitations of single card.
this should answer what setup I'm running.

No experience with USB-C adapters for anything over business productivity.

good luck!

Are those square monitors in the MFDs?

I would guess they are 8.4" with a 800x600 resolution. I can only find one made by Tianma but can't find anyone that has them for sale. the best i can find is:

let me know if you find any more information. I can't tell if it comes with a controller card or not. I find those on mouser, but I'm not sure if they are USB or not.

OK.  So they're just the right size and shape that the rectangular panel sits entirely behind the square face?
