Ryuk99
How does the TPOD know exact Elevation of Terrain and Slant Range to the Object? I thought to myself that it maybe uses AG Ranging, but i turned it off before trying. Also it cant be Laser Ranging, because its in excess of 40nm... Scotch75
I believe when the aircraft is in theatre it has a surveyed map uploaded to it, like the DTS (digital terrain system??) in the A-10C. So for a given lat/long, elevation is xxx. This is all integrated and used by the TPOD.Cheers!Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk 1 W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, GALAX GTX GeForce 1070 EXOC Sniper White 8GB VRAM
Tholozor
It's been discussed before regarding the inclusion of TAMMAC (basically the Hornet's equivalent to the A-10's DTED) in the OFP. It's kind of a weird gray area regarding if it was implemented before or after the version ED is going for. If the pod's ability to know exact coordinates becomes more ambiguous in the future, I hope we see a proper implementation of laser ranging beforehand. QuiGon
If anyone wonders what DTED/DTS is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DTED That's how the A-10C does it as well. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
