DmitriKozlowsky
I lost about 20%-30%, depending on module , in overall FPS performance, going from 2.5.6 to 2.7.X. My measure is FPS in Instant Action missions, as those missions remain consistent. From avg of 140FPS to below 100. My highest performing modules remain AV-8B and Mirage 2000C. But F/A-18C and KA-50 really took a FPS hit across all theaters. Viper never ran good on my rig, which is why I have not gotten it. Just played it on free try periods. F-14 is pretty good, almost as high FPS as AV-8B, but I have no interest in F-14. A-10CII lost FPS also, but perhaps 15%-20% decrease. I keep clouds on low, and no supersample anything. Shadows are low, and terrain shadows are flat. My system is about 2.5 years old. System: HP Z 440 wkstation, XEON E5-1630v4 3.7GHZ-4 GHZ, 64GB ECC ram 2666mhz, NvME M.2 system drive, SSD storage, Nvidia RTX 2060 Super FE, 2560X1440 @144hz panel. I considered purchasing RTX 3060Ti FE, but obviously it is not to be found due to shortage, and even though it is supposed to be faster then RTX 2080Ti, the actual FPS gain is about 15% over 2060Super, across benchmarked games. Of which DCS is not among. DCS does need its own objective benchmarking app, like Maxon's Cinema Benchmark. Maybe its time for new system, perhaps one with Ryzen THreadripper Pro 3955X, or Ryzen 5960X, or I9-10900X 3.7 with 3200Mhz RAM and RTX 3060Ti. But due to GPU shortage, not really an option currently. The worst performance is F/A-18C sitting on tarmac at Nellis, next to other static F/A-18C , in Instant Action/Nevada/Cold & Dark. There FPS is 38-48 when in cockpit. For KA-50 it is Instant Action/Syria/Cold Start . 67-78 FPS from cockpit.

DmitriKozlowsky
I empty FXO and metashaders folders regularly. I dont see that improving performance one way or another.
DmitriKozlowsky
OK, maybe a little. Still lookling 4 months down the line. Time to upgrade. At least replace RTX2060Super with 3060TI of this damn shortage ever breaks.

Water low and water high is about 20 fps difference with no obvious visual difference. Edited June 11, 2021 by SCPanda

Noluck
I use F/A-18C -> instant action -> NTTR (Nellis) -> Ready on Ramp since day one to test my FPS on the ground and in the air flying towards downtown Vegas. I actually have better FPS in the air/over Vegas than previous versions. On the ground, prior to taxi/takeoff is about the same with my option settings that pretty much have not changed much. I'm using 2.7.2.x latest beta as of today. --- PC: Windows 10 Pro X64, AMD FX8120 8 Core @ ~4.0GHz, 32GB DDR3-1600, GTX 1080 8Gb, 1 TB EVO 860 SSD | Displays: 3 Dell HD 1920x1080 @ 5520x1080 windowed ||| Hardware : TM Warthog HOTAS Stick+Throttle | 3x TM Cougar MFD's | WW Combat Panel | WW Landing Panel ||| Mods: F/A-18C | F-16 | P51-D | UH-1H | C130-J | NTTR | Persian Gulf | Syria | Channel | Normandy | WWII Assets | Super Carrier | Combined Arms

jurinko
I have noticed even if going from SS 1.0 to 0.8 in VR settings, the smoothness is not there. In previous patches, it was possible to get better performence by sacrifying some res, but not now. It also happened years ago when after some patch the game became unplayable for my rig and toning all settings down did not help.
Gizzy
A curious comparison... Running an OC i9-10900K WC on a ASUS Maximus X11 Hero with 64mb RAM feeding a GTX2080ti in 2D displaying with mostly high settings on a 3440 x 1400. A couple of months ago on Syria the CPU was running at 100% with about 40%CPU and returning around 80FPS - In the Caucasus it was around 120FPS.... a good all round result. Now, 27 June 2021 on the same map at the same place CPU is down to around 10-20% and GPU about 50% with 30FPS spawning on the Roosevelt. Memory used is shown as 32mb. That's some FPS hit! Disabled SRS. Vaicom, Tacview and DCSBios scripts in the export.lua and FPS went up to 50FPS. Whatever DCS has done the CPU performance has taken a big drop.... hopefully only temporary.. If you are struggling with FPS maybe worth a punt disabling any export scripts if you can.....
