TPOD Laser arming requirements

Recommended Posts

Folks,

On the next update the TPOD Laser arming requirements will be fully active. The requirements have been there from the beginning but were not working. That has been fixed. If the requirements are not met you cannot set the laser to ARMED. If ARMED, either FIRING or not, if the conditions are not met the laser will be turned off and safed (SAFE showing in PB06).

These are the conditions:

  • Landing Gear UP
  • Airspeed > 100 KCAS
  • Master Arm: ARM
  • Master Mode: AG
  • TPOD SWFOV mode: OFF
  • TPOD must be either Area or Point Locked or be slaved to a System Designation.

Please keep this list in mind after the next DCS update.

Thanks for letting us know. If possible, please put it in the change log.

Harrier really is turning into a great module. I'm slowly forgetting how to fly the other jets because the Harrer is just so much fun.

So the laser wont work if its in MT - moving target mode ? or does it count as a track/locked mode ?

I started a post before seeing this...but i think it is still a problem. If you touch the slew button AT ALL it renders safe. Hope this can be reviewed and fixed, or tell us that this is how it is meant to work.

Shooting anything moving, even in active pause, anywhere other than a runway is now effectively impossible...  the point track (or MT if this works?) is not going to be perfect. So if you lose the target and need to move the slew button even slightly to reaquire, then laser turns off of, so you need to un-safe and fire again...this does not seem intuitive....

It also appears that if you need to turn momentarily and it tries to re-aquire, even if successful, it also renders safe; maybe this is because INS is making it re-aquire and it resets the logic.

Thanks in advance.
