Joystick Gremlin and multiple keyboards

Recommended Posts

is there any way of differentiating between different keyboard within joystick gremlin?

so i have three keyboards, and 12 or so keyboard devices, from various things).

The effect i am trying to achieve, is use keyboard "3" to act like a usb button box, without it also sending the keystroke anywhere except generate the button press.

I have a a razer tartus and that works fine but obviously; that is a device deliberately intended to do that by Razer, im trying to achieve a similar effect with a "regular" keyboard.

i have pretty much tried all the techniques here TaranVH/2nd-keyboard: ALL of Taran's scripts - not just for the 2nd keyboard. (github.com) with the exception of the hardware solution.

Not sure about Gremlin, but I know that FreePie + vJoy can do that and a million other things. I switched to that from Gremlin and never looked back.

I attached the script that I use. Doesn't have multiple keyboards, but you can script that. It's not bad

having spent some time with it, i cant seem to find a way of differentiating between keyboard a and b; nor capturing the key stroke so it doesnt got to the app , i can certainly get it to capture a key stroke and turn it into a joystick button.. but i can do that with AHK.  what have i missed ?

The thing about joystick gremlin is that I think the dev gave up. Hasnt put out an update in 2 yrs

not sure that's fair, but i concur with the data point,  UCR is also out but seem's to rely upon interception/or which seems to have been deliberately limited by its author, and doesnt work for me There is also hid/luamacros etc... but they dont stop the keystroke.

Ok just confirmed with the FreePie+ dev that they don't do multiple keyboard support nor the ability to suppress the original keystroke.
