Hi Catmemes,

Looks like a result in my favour see latest.

Hello, your goods have been shipped, and the tracking number is FEDEX:xxxxxxxxx
After receiving the display screen, please do not install the TM cougar MFD directly. Connect the computer to test the screen first to see if it is damaged during transportation. Also, be careful when installing the screws to prevent damage to the screen during installation.
Best regards!

I asked about the why are the new screens USD$ 30 more expensive, here is the answer:

The screens are now upgraded versions. We have replaced the LCD panel with better quality, added the main power switch,  replaced the large USB port to prevent plug failure,  reserved the socket of CUBESIM MFD button frame (if CUBESIM button frame is used,  the same USB cable is used to connect the computer with V2 display),  And the overall size is thinner. Active heat Dissipation is removed, passive heat Dissipation holes are added.

Don't worry. I expect they deliver on schedule. Make an unboxing of your screen to see if it's ok.

Best regards.

Mine turned up today at last, screens look great, were seen straight away by PC and appear to have no issues whatsoever. just need to come up with a solution to mount them properly to my monster tech Mount.  ( the monster tech mfd Mount covers up the powder and usb connectors at the back of the screen ) At mo I’m using the backing plate and elbow joints that came with my Cubesim order, but I just can’t seem to get them tight enough as the screens easily come lose on that joint.  Only concern is the plugs that came with the screens feel extremely cheap and nasty, to be honest I’m not overly happy about using them with the U.K. adapter that was sent with them, so will be ordering a few better quality plugs.  I’m assuming just a generic one will work fine.

Result. Not sure if it's my imagination but the new screens look brighter than the 1st generation.

Glad you got sorted out.

I hear you Toni, Cubesim do put you through the hoops and what a ride.

The waiting time for a resolution is way too long, Covid included but waiting 8 + months is surely unrealistic in this day and age.

Promised due dates were reneged upon etc.

My replacement is due on Monday been waiting since November for a replacement. The original order was placed in February but delivered in November!!!

Then one monitor went faulty cubesim said that they have NEVER had a monitor go faulty before not really true.

Anyhow hopefully i'll be back in action on Monday.

Question on the setup images above, which are awesome by the way

Are you using your screens and cougars for use in the Apache, or F/A-18C/? I am just wondering whether I could use my same setup, albeit only two screens and cougars, whether I could program the brightness  and other rockers, as the additional buttons on the Apache e.g. six on all sides

Toni

Never having one go wrong before is B*******it, on my first delivery, one of mine was faulty, which I think is what prompted me to start this thread in the first place

Do these people really think that we do not talk to each other

As you  say, unacceptable in this day and age

Yep, photos showing both the Apache and F18 screens working.   Slight bug at mo with Apache as it shows the front screens rather than the pilots, but that’s a known bug with the Module NOT the mfd screens.   Pretty certain it will be fixed soon.

just put in one LUA, for ALL aircraft modules, had to overwrite some Apache cockpit files with some that output to the screens.    The file is up on Cubesim Facebook page for free.

I’m using the rocker switches to provide the 6th button when using the Apache.

@Cowboy10uk Thank you very much for clarifying all that for me. I am glad I can use mine for the Apache when I get a bigger desk, and can move my monitors further away from myself

I am not on that BookFaceSpaceTube thing, not a social person. I will see if I can access it without having to create an account

Again, I thank you for responding to my enquiry

Good news on my order! I have received a DHL tracking number yesterday. Very excited. It has been nearly 8 months since I ordered.

For those who are currently using these screens: Have you noticed any performance impacts? I have an 11900k, 3080 ti, DCS on SSD and 32gb of RAM, so I am hoping I will be OK hardware wise.

I was also wondering if anyone has had any issues with stutters or hitching due to the view ports being sent via USB instead of the video card HDMI and displayports?

Thank you!

Hi @lights

I run a lower spec than that with pretty high detail in DCS, and I do not really see any performance hit

Wish I had your hardware

Awesome @Toni Carrerathank you!

Yea ... DCS made me go pretty nuts on gear over the past two years. My wife has words about it 😅

But gear doesn't equal enjoyment and/or flying skills (much to be desired from me here), so as long as we're up and having a good time, its all the same 😀
