trying to enter a offset for an existing waypoint.

With latest patch it isn't possible. System will not accept the offset of the waypoint.

I've created a W/OS 2 days ago during training, had no problems.

@buur Are you sure you are doing it correctly?

EHSD -> DATA

ODU-> click on WPT it become W/OS

ODU -> Select BRG and enter bearing via UFC, press enter to confirm

ODU -> Select RNG and enter Range via UFC, press enter to confirm

You should now see created offset in EHSD if it is within the range of current map scale.

Clicking W/OS in the lower right side of EHSD will select the W/OS and will show navigation infos to HUD

@Kappa, now it works. I have no idea what I've done wrong the last two times I tried it. Thanks for your support.

Just bear in mind that the bearing for offsets seems to be bugged (definitely in the Caucasus map), where you have to add double the variation to get the correct bearing from a waypoint/tacan. I haven't raised a formal bug yet. May do it later today.

hey,

we have played around with the tacan offset lately, and its working perfectly, but it uses TRUE heading. I just switch my EHSD to True if i play around with it.

Hmmm, interesting. I just tried it on the Caucausus, Nevada and Syria map and switching to true does change it by the varition but it's still off. The way I test TCN offset is tune the TCN, note bearing and DME. Create offset from the tacan with that bearing and dme and it ends up being 4 nm off. Using TRUE still makes the offset waypoint 2 nm away. Something doesn't add up.  It's similar in Syria (because the variation is similar) but in Nevada the difference was something like 20+ nm.

I also added a waypoint right on top of the TCN station and did the same offset tests, same result.

hm weird.

we used the f10 map to get a radial and range for suhkumi airport from the kobuleti tacan. and once i switched the ehsd to true and intercepted the r-303 outbound i arrived right on top of suhkumi.

if its off now then thats caused by the patch we got last week
