britgliderpilot
If I was a developer and would see that LOMAC ends up in a guns vs guns shooter simulation, I would be very frustrated ! Don't you think so, Ice ? It's just not enough to value LOMAC. Chill out - 1v1 Gunzo is rather like the jousting of old - great fun, but of little practical value. I don't think anyone's seriously suggesting that Lomac ONLY be flown gunzo . . . . but as long as it's a possibility and as fun as it is, a gunzo ladder makes sense. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Skywall23
I've seen many postings here and on other forums like "Where can I get new campaigns" or "I cannot handle mission XY, need help" etc. These postings are obviously from people (kids) who are to dumb or lazy to create own missions and who have a understanding of LOMAC like it is a leveled game ("Need help or a cheat for level xy..."). Hmm, so asking for campaign is being lazy? The people who ask for campaign are just kids? Hmmm, I wonder what (some) people have against kids really. Well I thought that the campaigns that people built were for everyone, after all, they are hosted in servers were you can download them...ahhh, wait, those are just lazy kids, that are hosting campaigns because they want to play some missions without using some hours to edit some missions. Making campaigns is not making missions. It takes hours to make a decent campaign, with a good amount of missions. Do you think everyone has time to be building campaigns? We work or/and study, we dont live around sims or games only. (although we live around them :P ) Guess what then? Im dumb and lazy because Im unable to do a good campaign with cool storyline. Im dumb because I cant complete mission X or Y. Sounds good.
Skarp
Re: Gunzo ladder Sure interesting for somebody coming from "Secret Weapons over Normandy", "IL 2", "Pacific Fighters", "European Air War" and so on. C'm on, guys, LOMAC is capable of soooooo many other challenging things. You are riding it like a tri-wheeler when you limit yourself playing it only guns vs guns. You can play real tactics, BVR, HVAA attack / defense, COMAOs, CSAR, QRA, ESCORT, SWEEP and and and. A F-15 is not just a super-duper P-50 and a Mig29 is no Me109 ! Why just making another boring ego shooter from LOMAC ? Is that what you want ? In fact, nowadays if it comes to gun attacks, somebody made a real bad mistake. If you can see your enemy, he's much too close ! Air War is done BVR, and the better tactic will save your life. Try good old "Star Wars" shooter instead. And credit the hard working devs with playing LOMAC as it is ought to be - best modeled combat flight sim ever ! there are also other online events going on. just ask around if gunzo isn't your thing

I was talking about kids who cannot handle a complex sim like LOMAC, you aren't a kid, are you ? There is nothing wrong with downloading and flying missions and campains, I prefer flying online twice a week with my mates. kind regards, Raven.... Missions require testing too , and that takes time. Training is not only done online but also offline. We need sp missions to train so we download them. 169th_Cobra
thanks for your feedback Raven, all the points you make are true and i agree with, well most anyhow. the point you are missing is we aren't trying to make it as realistic as possible, we aren't trying to take full advantage of LOMAC's features, we aren't trying to make it as hard as possible. what it is, is a bit of fun having a turning fight (call it air-quake if you will), and also a bit of a test on the ladder layout and features before we move onto bigger and better things. its a shame you dont see the value or fun in this, but as you said that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. personally i really enjoy it but it also seems that in your post you are saying our point of view is invalid? i hope we can leave it at "each to thier own" and move on. golfsierra2
@Skywall23, 169thIce and 169thCobra, I apology for being somewhat rude in my statemenst, could have told it in a more convenient way. I was just disappointed by the impression , that a high-tech sim like LOMAC was treated like an ordinary Star Wars shooter, which in my opinion just isn't good enough for LOMAC and all it's great features. Please understand my comments more in a way of motivating you guys to dive deep into the features of LOMAC and learn to handle them. With Flaming Cliffs, it even becomes more complicated (radar modi). But as 169thCobra said, in the end everybody can and should play LOMAC as own skills and interests permitt. Anyway - just play LOMAC - and have fun !! That's the bottom line. :D kind regards, Raven.... Ice
I have created a logo for The Panthers Ladder. If Dmutt or another Webmaster could add it to the News Article on the main site, I would be forever grateful :D
Ice
Had an excelent match yesterday against RAF-Packman in the SU27. Lost 2-0 but was still great fun. Good Job RAF!
Tracker
I suck at gunz. Packman chewed my six for like, what was it Packman 8 rounds? lol GS2 - Raven, Just a quick word - I helped Ice in the conception stages of this ladder and it has always been intended to be more than just Guns down the road. But for simplicity and to get it rolling Guns only is a good place to start. Its not exactly my cup of tea, but I still enjoy a match now and again. There is a lot of potential here and competition is good for the community. When all else fails, Eject then read the manual. Oh, and a good wingman helps. Guest ruggbutt
How's it going getting the hang of the '27 Ice? You an old hand at it yet?
Ice
Still not as good in the 27 as I am in the F15, but I enjoy the challenge. Had a good game against =RAF=Nomad not so long ago, initially he was waxing my fanny in his F15 but by the end of the session I had the upper hand. I Also had a session with Mustang. Played him in his F15 for about 2 hours and lost 4 out of 5 matches Dammit!! Still was alot of fun. I have been playing SH3 for the last few weeks. Seemed like a good time to take a break from LOMAC.
