Headset or DCS

Hi all,

 

I'm having an issue with my HP Reverb G2 and DCS. Randomly, the VR  output will freeze, the volume indicator will appear, followed by the maroon DCS: waiting window. Sometimes, it will recover and I can continue flying. Other times, DCS freezes up completely and I have to end the task in task manager.

 

I am wondering if this is the dreaded HP Reverb G2 nightmare, or if it is related to DCS.

 

My Reverb G2 is plugged into an addon card, StarTech.com 2-Port 10Gbps USB-A & USB-C PCIe Card - USB 3.1 Gen 2 PCI Express Type C/A Host Controller Card Adapter - USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 PCIe Expansion Add-On Card - Windows, macOS, Linux (PEXUSB311AC3).

 

My BIOS and Windows and Vid drivers are all up to date. The Reverb has been firmware patched to resolve the volume issue.

 

Looking at my DCS log, I see the following right before the crash.

What versions of WMR for SteamVR and SteamVR itself are you using ? Suggest running release (no betas) at the moment. Especially WMR for SteamVR beta (1.3.6) is a buggy mess.

Could you try a Mobo USB 3.x port? There have been many USB issues reported (not specifically DCS related but in general). If that's not possible could you ensure having the latest drivers for the Startech expansion card?
