PUCARA IA-58 FMA ARGENTINA free mod

Recommended Posts

  • 7 months later...

Hello,

This week-end I started converting my training missions for the Pucara, for use on the South Atlantic map, which is of course a much more logical place to use than other DCS Maps, like Caucasus. Here is a video walktrough of the first mission:

You can Download the Caucasus version of these missions, at this link:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322944/

Update 13/Jun/22:  Here is the walkthrough of the second mission:

Update 14/Jun/22: Third mission ready:

Update: June 19th 2022: 4th Mission.
Next: the 1st Weapons training mission.

👍

Just gave this a try on the SA map.

Update to my earlier issue.  Working fine, but would love to be able to map more controls

I works on my DCS, can’t comment further as there is too little information provided. 😶

Hi,

For those users that have downloaded the Caucasus missions, the user @Tanuki44 reported a bug within its lessons.lua file that prevented M01 from loading. I've updated the file, if you have the old version you may want to download it again:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322944/

Advanced users that may want to avoid re-downloading the whole package, I have attached the updated lesson.lua file, but you would have to place it manually at the correct location (\Saved Games\DCS.OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\PUCARA\Missions\EN\Training)

Best regards

lessons.lua

I guess it's discontinued since not available to download from the link, no files shown. Am I missing something?

The link (from the 1st Post) works for me: https://github.com/PucaraPastrana/PucaraDCS

There, click on "Releases" and select the latest one:  0.12b    https://github.com/PucaraPastrana/PucaraDCS/releases/tag/v0.12b

It's developer is still working on the Mod, even if no newer versions have appeared. He is active on the projects Discord:  https://discord.gg/DZGDtdpK

Much obliged, figured it'd be under the "release" from other github downloads but couldnt see any release link on the initial page, thanks!

Hi,

I'm very near to finish the conversion of my Caucasus training missions, for use on the South Atlantic map, so as an added detail I tought that this Mod deserves to have a page at the DCS Encyclopedia:

pYHPH91.jpg

I still need to proof the text, once its ready I hope @pastranario3 will accept to place it within the Mod's files 🙏

Here is a video walkthrough of my next Pucara mission, only a few bugs remain, I expect to have it ready this week-end:

Edit:

I finished the M05 mission, here is a video walktrough on its Ground Start variant:

Best regards,

Eduardo

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with this very nice ADDON of Pucara.

I am on DCS STABLE and on the South Atlantic - Falklands chart:
for example, I can't land on the small runway at Goose-Green, the Pucara explodes as soon as I touch the runway.
I have no problem landing at the two major airports with their hard surfaced runways.
It does the same to me on the other small lots in the different parts of the islands.
I don't know if the problem is me or the Pucara.
On the other hand it should be noted that I manage to land on the small ground with the ADDON of the Bronco.

Has anyone ever tested the Pucara on the small slopes of the Falklands ?

most likely, its a bug of this Mod. Hopefully its author will return to it and improve these aspects.

Thank you for your reply "Rudel_chw"
If it's a small bug of the Pucara, well indeed I hope that the creators will be able to make an improvement, because it's a shame not to be able to go from island to island in the Falklands

Its weird but when on the ground, when you apply power and start to taxi the turning is very sensitive and if your not conservative on the pedals, this plane will turn very fast in an unrealistic manner, is this a bug in the mod?

this is a bug present on all aircraft Mods based on the FC3 flight model. The only way to get rid of it seems to be the development of an independent flight model. Work around is to taxi forward and not turn until you have a bit of groundspeed, do not turn while at zero speed.

Running this Mod as AI it seems to be seriously underpowered. With a full bomb load it hardly ever gets off the runway, exploding at the end every time.

It is suggested that it can carry 500lbs on each wing pylon plus 2200lbs on the centreline.  I can get it to take off if I use a VERY long runway and a very light load (say 2 x 500lbs bombs), but the chances of getting this off the ground carrying anything more is nearly impossible.  Given it was designed for rough airstrips that does not seem right.

Is that just a limitation of the Mod AI and its being worked on, or is my information wrong ?

(I did see these things for real in 1982 and they were flying off grass airstrips then, I cant recollect what they had slung underneath then except it went bang rather loudly when it hit the ground  !)
