ok I give up....F86 mission downed helicopter

I can't seem to get past the downed helicopter mission with the F-86...not sure what mission number it is, but I get hit by a missile no matter what I do; I think it is scripted. So am I supposed to land the plane on a road or something in friendly territory? Every time I eject I do not advance to the next mission.

Yes. Just land it on the grass. You don't get hit though if I remember correctly, something just breaks down, and the mission is set to prevent you from air starting.
If you fly really high up before you trigger the breakdown, and try multiple airstarts, you can almost get back to base, but that is not the point of the mission.
