Why does DCS start steam VR now?

never used to ? not with a WMR headset, it will require SteamVR to run

Also SteamVR is great...  WAY better than any of the other solutions like the oculus and WMR crap.  Super dumb that we have to run SteamVR and WMR with a Reverb.  No real need...  Just samsung being jerks.

Yep Reverb G2 requires both WMR and Steam VR to run.

You will not be able to run DCS without Steam VR in the Reverb headset.

I like it how you just start DCS and everything boots up automacilly. The only time I have Steam running is when I need to run FPSVR program to monitor but I havent ran it in weeks… Rig/DCS/VR/G2/VROptian lenses has been solid ! Loving it 👍🏻
