lodar
Hello everyone. Need help here. I bought the Saitek X-56, and I am having issues. I calibrated the joystick and Axis tuned my X56 to my F-18. While playing the game and I'm pitching and rolling, my plane acts a little erratic like it wobbles or lose control momentarily, and plane stalls even when I am going at a decent speed. When I disconnect the joystick and use my keyboard, the F18 flies well. No stalling or wobbles. I also used another stick, my X52, and my plane flies fine. I played with the curvature and deadzones and no luck. Please help. 1. Video of what is happening. 2. Video of just keyboard. 3. Another video of what is wrong. Brun
Does the same problem exist with different DCS aircraft or other games? If not it would suggest the problem is with your F-18 bindings. Check you don't have pitch and roll assignments on other devices (which DCS stupidly assigns by default) but if it's fine with the keyboard I'm not sure that's the problem in this case. LeCuvier
If your joystick is connected via a USB hub then the hub could be the problem; especially if it doesn't have its own power supply. lodar
I did not try with other planes. I'll check it out today. I tried different hubs but it was the same. I'll check the binding. How do I make sure it's not programmed to anything else.
CBStu
In the control setup page find the column for you stick. AT the top left there is a box w/ drop down. Start w/ 'ALL' in that box. Scroll all the way to the bottom while watching your stick column. Here you will find assignments for the buttons on the stick. Next go to that box, do the drop down and click on 'Axis Commands' and go to your stick column and scroll. In that column you should see 'JOY_Y' across from 'Pitch' in the left most column. And 'JOY_X' across from 'Roll' and 'JOY_RZ' across from Rudder. Ok. Thank you. I did all that and issue still remains. I tried with another HOTAS and it worked fine. The X56 is like to sensitive too movement which I tried to look for correction. Anyways, I'm looking at the VKB MK3.
Razor18
First of all I would call up the small controller indicator to see if those move in synch with your physical stick at all. And when that uncommanded shaking occurs, what those indicators show?
Wroblowaty
I fly on X-56 and its really fine for me. In last of your videos you have full left rudder input all the time. Check if your throttle was not automatically assigned to rudder or other axis. Also check axis assignments across all controllers you have. I have seen such things happen in DCS. I also experienced some ghost inputs in the beginning, but plugging stick and throttle directly to PC USB ports and other less demanding stuff to USB hub with external power solved it once and for all. Flying with FCS page open or controller diagram enabled would help to see what is going on.
lodar
I've done all the following. Still the same. I just received my VKB Gunfighter MK3 and it's still wagging alittle. Is it the settings or something? It makes me lose control if the jet. If you watch close to the end. You'll see what I'm talking about. If you watch the vertical tails, they're wagging creating a fishtail. Edited September 23, 2021 by lodar
lodar
Here's another where I am losing control of the jet when I make fast pitches and rolls.
rory
Im finding I have this also with the F18 and X56. When pulling fully back it can sometimes start a wobble that is only recoverable if you let go of the controls. Its not a stall as speed is usually high and no stall warning going off. @lodarare you still experiencing this or did you fix it somehow?

I previously had the Logitec X-56 (I think) and the wagging happened alot. I bought the thrustmaster Warhog and I noticed it reduced tremendously the amount of of wagging. The wagging still occurs but not as much.
