razo+r
terrainspeed.trk DCS automatically decreases the top speed of vehicles, in this example a tank, depending on the surface type according to the F10 height map. You can see in this example, as long as I am driving "in a forest", my speed is limited to 20kph. As soon as I cross a magical border, which is marked on the F10 height map, the speed limit is removed. Now this might be according to design, but there is no reason why a tank should not be able to go past 20kph just because it is within the boundaries of a forest, especially not when there aren't any trees or obstacles around anyway. razo+r
forestground.trk Bömp Still slowing down on "forest soil" because of whatever reason, even when no single tree is there.
razo+r
It feels so stupid when your HUMVEE can drive only 22kph in an open field because it's marked as "forest" until you cross the magical border and suddenly accelerate to +100 kph in the same open field...
