airea Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 In the producers's notes, we read "4808" on the control panel of the HUD, where you adjust brightness, etc. What is 4808? It is hand-written I suppose... Does it have a meaning? Sorry if asked before... I was not able to find an answer via the search function...
Xjikz Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 this is the number of units destroyed during the previous mission :megalol: Proud to be a [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :joystick::pilotfly::book:
Airway Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Tax waste per minute I guess :megalol: Seriously I don't know.
Boberro Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Phonenumber to Wags :D Ok... Hmm seems it is really hand written, interesting, but I don't know :S Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Namenlos Ein Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) Not only 4808. Take a look at p.233 in the Ka-50 Black Shark Manual. But in the game it clearly reads 4808. Perhaps this is a cheat code of some kind? Or number of testings performed with this HUD 'Ranet' device? Edited November 5, 2008 by Namenlos Ein

Doggy Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Hm, I see "04809" there... :) I think it is a place where pilot can write down some notes if he doesn't have any paper nearby ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] C2D E4500@3GHz + Scythe Katana , 2GB/800, GF9600GT@720 (GV-NX96T512HP), Cyborg Evo, Freetrack (2.2), Samsung 20" @1680x1050, Fortron BSII 400W (peak 430W), Win7 HP x64
joey45 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 probly a Serial Number... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Triggerhappy69 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Not only 4808. Take a look at p.233 in the Ka-50 Black Shark Manual. But in the game it clearly reads 4808. DTWD Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Maybe it's some subtle manipulation of the forum users. I wonder how many people choose 4808 as there pin number next time they are requested for it...oooh conspiracy. :D Oh and that image quite clearly says 4809. There could also be a pre-leading 0, but it could also be smudge. Regards Paul Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
airea Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 In the producers' notes, it is definitely a 4808:) See 3':46'' of Producer's Note-8:)

SunDown Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 likes the cockpit art team were trying to add some realism to the HUD. it looks like a serial number etched into the face by the techs who installed it. I think its a nice touch. C Co 6-6 CAV USLANTCOM
59th_LeFty Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 We sim pilots are 'different'... Imagine any others, like CoD4 players, who investigating in threads, WTF is the number in the M14 SOCOM rifle; or those who play starcraft are wondering, what can be inside of those bars and shops in the fifth campaign map.. :D I can't Really should be serial, or a sort of marking by maintainers. But it's a common habit here in Hungary, that the board number of the aircraft IS written somewhere inside the canopy, maybe just for the case if the pilot/crew forgets which plane is he sitting in :D [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
