Indeed, that's a feature I was asking for for quite some time. It's great that ED actually did this now, which offers great new possibilities for server admins to host historic missions without having to deal with the warehouses!

Yep. ED said on Hoggit it's for all aircraft even the AI. Not just the Viper.

Well, it's not like the AI has their own mind and decideds by itself what weapons to take, but sure why not :lol:

Now that I've learnt that the HARM compatibility on stations 4 and 6 is aircraft specific, this is the best move.

 

Though personally, I'd rather the tickbox be located next to the historical mode and make it a global setting.

Best thing for me is not more HARMs, but the ability of being able to carry 2 HARMs with other smart munitions such as Mavericks, JDAMs, CBU-105s etc.:D

 

Edit: Oh I forgot, more AA missiles as well!

Edit: Nvm, it took me a while to understand what you mean: Carrying HARMs on the inner stations and then use the classic HARM stations for sometion else. At first read I thought you meant that you could now allow all kind of munitions on all pylons 😄

Great news, I've been waiting so long for this feature, great to finally have it, and great to have more options for the F-16.

Well, if it works like in the other sim, and the campaign generator has the ability to automatically frag packages, the AI will need to select an appropriate payload out of a number of presets.

a little bit of feedback from me even before it's actually in game:

 

it would be nice to get indication of what limitations are reasonable. with the single picture posted, the UI implies that deactivating HARM on 4/6 is equally reasonable than deactivating 120c on the wingtips.

i would suggest that the default (that is, if you enable restrictions) should be most restrictive, so you see that enabling 4/6 for HARM is optional. this way a new user can quickly make his own research about the specific ordnance/station combination.

 

another solution would be to have tooltips that gives you the background to the possible restriction. hovering over aim-120c on wingtip would come up empty, hovering over harm on 4/6 woudl show a tooltip which in few words describes the situation regarding this setup.
