I hope it will be released with the ah64!

I think this is unlikely. They are all focused on AH64

Pure speculation here, but my guess would be that when they add features to the Apache (in an update after release) that parallels the features they were going to add in the BS3 update (A2A missiles etc) then we may see info on the BS3 release in order to maintain functional parity between redfor and blufor.

Of course I'm probably biased since I'm really looking forward to an Igla equipped black shark.

There are no functional parity between redfor and bluefor goals in DCS as I see it. DCS is not about "MP balance". I am looking forward to BS3 very much.

All we know is that BS3 is still in works, and could release this year still. While Apache is also said to be available this year, I don't see how the one would affect the other, neither why it should.

Everything is subject to change, so we will see.

Yeah, I'd guess BS-3 is back burnered at this point. One thing in its favor though is that they don't have to develop any AI for it, being single seat and all. And it will benefit from the R-60 integration on the Hind and maybe the MAWS on the apache.

In any case, it looks like the Apache won't be getting the stingers after all, so if the BS3 gets the Igla, it will have a potential advantage against apaches which may need a mistral equipped Gaz escort or be very quick on the draw with guiding hellfires.

Apache won't? Looks like Soviets may have the edge! 😄

Meh with the radar it will see the hind however many km away and just put the thing on the thing and a radar guided hellfire is on its way, oh and from behind cover if you like.

The hellfires have no proxy fuze and 8km range MAX. I doubt they will be able to hit any helicopter that isnt hovering. Also if they fix the skhval the vikhrs will easily put both the gazelle and apache in the dirt. The vikhrs are not affected by countermeasures, fly at mach 2, and have a 12kg proxy fuze warhead. (the aim-9x has a 9kg warhead) I've shot down mirages, mig-29s, and vipers in PVP with the vikhrs. If ED models the ka-50 accurately, jets and helicopters alike will literally run away from it (as they should).

There have been some info in the previous newsletters, but seeing how little, I suspect that the project is now behind the AH-64D in making?

I believe BS3 will stay for next year. This year they should only focus on Apache.
