How about a campaign?

Hello ED,

I am interested in the Mossie, but since I already have so many other modules to fly, it is only worthwhile for me if the Mossie brings a campaign with it. Are there any efforts on your part?

Thanks a lot for an Answer👋

At least one 3rd party was looking at making a campaign (IIRC).  Reflected posted on this sub earlier in the summer

ETA - not sure I’ve seen anything re ED’s plans… although the videos, screenshots, aircraft IDs and ground assets all point towards the Amiens prison raid 😉

I seem to remember either NineLine or BN saying that the Mossie doesn't come with a campaign, but as rkk01 said there are training missions and single player missions, one I believe will be the Amiens Prison raid, on the Channel map if you have that.

Reflected has a campaign in the works for the Mossie I believe which will also be on the Channel map, how far along he is with it I don't know. Hopefully he will see this thread and chime in with an update. I for one will be getting this campaign, as his other work is very good, I'm looking forward to see what he brings to the Mossie. Ok a bit extra to pay, but for the quality of his work it's a small price to pay I think...

Most Early access modules don't seem to have campaigns.

F16 has been in EA for years and still doesn't have a single campaign.

Hey, as stated above, I'm working on a campaign, yes. It's gonna be called 'V for Victory' - you'll fly as the squadron leader of No.21 Squadron in YH-V. It's pretty far along in the development, as I started setting up the missions back in January with the Spit as a stand in.

This being said, I won't be able to finish it right after the Mossie's release, as I'll need many features to be implemented, and also an official skin template to be released - which usually happens when it comes out of EA. Or, for example, currently we don't have magnetic deviation over the Channel map. I can't record the voiceovers with true headings, otherwise I'll have to re-record them once deviation is implemented. (10 degrees!) Stuff like this needs to be sorted out before the project can be finished.

The campaign will be a collection of all kinds of different missions that the Mossie was used for, along with some recreations of historical missions. Of course it's not realistic in a way that no single Mossie unit flew all these mission types one after the other, but each mission will be as plausible historically as possible.

Will the V for Victory Campaign be updated for the Normandy 2.0 map? Or another Mosquito Campaign be created? I only joined last year and have the Normandy 2.0 and not the older Maps and was looking forward to playing this.

Also, does anyone have a link or know where i can find out what campaigns and missions DLC maps come with / allow? If the Channel comes with campaigns or missions for the other warbirds ill get it but dont want to spend $40 on an old map no one plays on just for this one campaign that already cost me 12 bucks.

I can't 'move' or 'update' it, I would have to rebuild it from scratch, so it's definitely not gonna happen. BTW the Channel is a great map, well worth getting if you're a warbird fan - and there is a sale on right now.

Unless you're on Steam, you can try any DLC, except campaigns for obvious reasons, before you buy for two weeks every six months.
Or, if you're on Steam and you have the disk space, you can install Standalone in parallel.

yeah i find it funny how its cheaper to upgrade to a bigger map coverage area than it is to downgrade/buy the smaller map standalone (oh you want to double okay 10-15 bucks, oh you want double the less map okay pay us double more for no reason 30-40 bucks). i don't know where ed messed up there - i originally thought like the Afghanistan map i got the smaller portion associated with the bigger purchase.

Not sure what you mean here. There were two maps originally. Normandie came first, then The Channel. Then Ugra released Syria, and decided to upgrade and expand Normandie with the new technology. No harm in that, and the upgrade price was very fair. One was never able to "downgrade" at any point. We've also been told that the Upgraded Normandie and The Channel do not use the same technology, which it means they can't be merged. Unfortunately, because that would probably be the best scenario for us users.

yeah exactly as mentioned. if channel map was expected to be paid for still - should have made it cheaper just another 10-15 if you already owned Normandy. not a whole 40 bucks (ie essentially i downgrade) as Normandy 2.0 covers both essentially.

Ahhhhh! Now I understand what you mean. Yeah, they should have been a bundle. There was a lot of discussion about that a while back. For instance, before 2.0 dropped, but was announced with the discount. You could still come out ahead if you purchased both during a sale. I guess they really have forgotten about it. Yeah, a bundle is the key now. What the price for both in the current sale?
