May ED/DCS share a preview of TEDAC controls in pdf format similar to what was shared for the Cyclic/Collective?

what buttons do u design your board around?

what ever you are using could mean a redesign of my design..

switching to a different component obviously it means a redesign, so I don't insist,.
"I'
m going to be wiring soon." PCBs save tremendous amount of time and in my case (since my attention span can be less than ideal) prevent mistakes.

I'm using 3x6x2.4 SMT tactile switches (LEDs are mounted nearby). this allows for minimal profile hight, but pretty much requires use of custom PCBs.
I have my old CDU attempt with exact switches you using, I  decided that I like the tactile feel more than the long travel.

going forward it you want a custom PCB you can send me a DXF with outline, part placement and any holes. it takes some time to get them , yes. we can chat more in private if you interested.

good luck!

your work is very very professional!

let me see how  bad wiring my current design will be.

another kicker is there will be a LCD screen behind the MFD i have planned so, connectors and all will be added complexity that im trying not to spend a whole lot of time on.. im also dealing with a motion platform upgrade from DC motor to AC servo motor.. i have even less time.. trying to get ready for apache as soon as i can..

my MFD wont have illuminated buttons like yours... im VR really.. but your panel design is just wow!

Nice work Hannibal!

As mentioned in the other thread I made a "mockup" PCB to see how it could look with the available space inside the TDU frame you are designing. I just did a rough estimation on the space in the slots inside the frame by looking at your previously posted screenshots. Would be best with a single PCB as agrasyuk says but it's not possible with  current design so the second best I came up with is two small PCB for the buttons and a separate small PCB for the diodes. Not perfect but it makes the wiring somewhat easier.

Do you have an easy way to display the back of the frame with correct dimensions of available space?

Wow Hannibal,

looks amazing!

I will take a look at the TEDAC grips if I made the rest of my missing parts. Maybe some of you would like to do the rest if I made the rough shape of the grips. As mentioned before in the other thread, I'm slowly getting a bit tired of 3D modeling. I wanted to do some manual work now after all this theoretical stuff.

P.S:

Does anyone have a sideview of one of the the grips (90° rotated). Would make doing the shape much, much easier.

Ok, just found what I need 😄. I will start with the grips now in parallel to the rest of my parts.

Cool! Looking good 😀.

It was only such an idea that came to my mind, cause I have those little TFT's lying arround unused. If someone mostly is flying in VR it doesn't make much sense, but I have planned to use my pit a lot in pancake mode too 😅 and in this case  functional display in the TEDAC would be a nice thing, if really possible 🤔.

Haven't done much with display export in DCS until now. I only used the "other" simulation in my old pit where I have used display extraction and working gauges and so on...

I will now finish my Osprey parts (stick is already done - throttle is about 40% done) and after this I have only two smaller things I would also like to have finished. The wing sweep for my F-14 throttle and the handles for the modified Suncom SFS throttle for using it as the Apaches turbine levers are my last missing things for the pit.

If this is done I will completely switch to the TEDAC grips. Meanwhile I will do some work on them from time to time, to have a bit variety in modeling. I don't like it much to stay too long at one thing only 🙂.

Yes panel useless in VR..but I'm going to incorporate it anyway,  I just think it's cool..and I have option to use the build for desktop gaming.

But yes I'm primarily vr aviator!

I must admit I still haven't used my G2 except testing it at the computer of my stepson to see if all is ok. My own system is running but not fully arranged at the moment. I also did only some tests with it, to see if the RTX 3090 is ok.

Maybe I bought the hardware too early, but I caught the graphic card really cheap (it was a refusal with full warranty) and then bought the rest to be able to adapt it to the pit during the building process.

I'm an older guy and I don't know if I come to terms with VR, especially for longer sessions. And I also always wanted to have a second option to fly in a pit with functional switches and the triple view in conjunction with a TIR, I always have dreamed of before VR was a matter. I hope I can get all running before the hardware is at low level again 😅.

I'm just doing the screwings on my Osprey throttle and after this I want to do a little more working at the TEDAC grips. Has any one already started to built the housing for the MFD?

No hurry, I just wanted to know if anybody already startet the box where the MFD-Frame is placed on and the grips are connected to. I have enough other parts to finish and the TEDAC isn't needed yet for my own pit. So I can wait 🙂.

Mad respect to all that did the modelling for all the aircraft in DCS.. this thing is hard. My model is no where near the reference im tracing it at, it mind end up not being comfortable to hold.  https://imgur.com/a/WakuIVC

Anybody knows how to figure out how to fit in the switches? Or anybody has a go to switches and a catalogue with the dimensions? The normal and non-expensive ones would do.

Hey Apar, this is an absolutely amazing work you did 👍 😍.

If you use the printable POV's that are arround on Thingiverse, they are nearly identical with the one TM used in their FLCS and even in the newer stuff like the WH or the Cougar. I made my holes for POV's 17.25mm in diameter. For the buttons I use, I made holes in 12.5mm diameter for the medium buttons and 7.5mm for the small ones.

I use same buttons as in those pics for my HOTAS projects. Not top notch, more far away from it but everwhere to get (eg. ebay).

The TFT looks nearly exactly the same as the one I'm also having here from my previous pit which was used for the right upper console's engine gauges. There is another one in my cabinet which should better fit, cause it's 4:3 format. But this one can only do 800x600, but I think this should also be ok for the TEDAC. Sadly the old 4:3 are hard to get those days. I bought it for the center bottom MFD in my old pit. The two other MFD's in the panel and also the center gauges were fired by an standard 16:9 TFT behind the main panel.

i picked this panel cause there was some videos out there of people integrating it and getting it to work.

panel is more for astethetics... maybe for a friend that cant VR when they visit.

trying to keep it simple! and not re invent the wheel

i widened the MFD by a little bit..
