[REQUEST] Su-25A Mayor Update?

Grajo

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Now that I have started to enjoy VR in DCS, it is really shocking how different it feels to fly this bird compared to any other, for example, from the flaming clifts "family", can not be compared to MiG-29 at all... Graphically It has aged really bad IMO. A part from it´s unfixed exterior model mesh cliping inside cockpit problem... (6 years... with no fix already) :  https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/124853-reportedsu-25a-missing-texture/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-4691215

Please ED, some love for Su-25A after all these years???

Any info/plans for Su-25A from the Devs?

Thank you

They just need to do a FF Su-25. Lets be real its 20% more effort than a WW2 module due to the gunsight and weapons computer.

Even the Su-25 is still very protected by the Russian government.

Seriously? It's like a hind with wings. Same era, similar weapons etc.

I mean i'll buy it for a dollar if you say so. But its totally illogical.

Does that mean FF MiG-29A is no go? Its way more complex aircraft than Su-25 after all.

Well ED has said they are trying to the FF29... So one theory might be they have more "mig" docs than SU-25 docs, or sources etc. And TBH I expect the FF 29 would be a far bigger seller than a FF SU-25. But at the end of the day its all about costs vs profits to develop a module.

Well yes but the MiG-29 was widely more exported and captured by the NATO after the German reunification.

That's probably the defining criteria right there. MiG-29s are all over the world, including in multiple NATO countries. Longterm, Ukraine turning westward may eventually result in increased access to stuff like MiG-29s, Su-27s, Su-24s, Su-25s... albeit probably not in a timely fashion, and it doesn't exactly prevent other government involvement in the process. As long as ED operates primarily in Russia, that's always going to be a thorn in their side.

Leaving aside all the other ways the West could have accessed details of the Su-25's performance and capabilities, the Iraqi air-force reintroduced Su-25 to its stable of aircraft in 2014 - So they've been flying while the US were operating from bases there.

There is literally zero chance that every single piece of technology in those aircraft, and every set of test results anyone might want to do to evaluate the aircraft, has not been handed over for inspection to the US military
