dresoccer4
quick q: when approaching a dogfight what should you set your RPM? Full forward? Does it matter what altitude you're at? 1 Acer Predator Triton 700 || i7-7700HQ || 512GB SSD || 32GB RAM || GTX1080 Max-Q || FFB II and Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle || All DCS Modules

grafspee
Set full rpm, this allow you to just not worry about over boosting because you have all available boost at those rpm. Another thing, when fighting at high alt when throttle is maxed out by increasing rpm you will gain more boost, so with lower rpm your max ceiling going down. P-51 Mustang Pilot
Is there any altitude at which even slightly reducing RPM will help you achieve maximum forward speed? In a dive?
Morat
I think full rpm gives top speed in any part of the envelope as long as you have enough boost.
rkk01
Agree - full rpm… tempting to turn the revs down and use throttle / boost, but very easy to over boost the engines in the heat of the moment
Hiob
+1 on all above. War Emergency Power, I'd say. When bullets are whizzing around your head, you probably stop caring about the service life of your engines. So, all in, but watch the temps. With a blown engine, you're a sitting duck. grafspee
RPM full on, and work the throttle, being in combat does not mean that you have to be wide open all the time. 1 System specs: I7 14700KF, Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX 4090,Win 11, 48" OLED LG TV + 42" LG LED monitor
