kengou
I haven't messed with it yet but it should be very simple. In landing configuration, trim and stabilize on-speed. Press the ATC button on the throttle. Throttle is now handled automatically to maintain on-speed AOA. Use stick to roll or pitch up and down. Stearmandriver
I haven't tried approach ATC, but man does regular ATC work precisely now. I had it engaged during a hard pull onto a short initial for the break, and literally didn't lose a single knot in an 80 degree bank with a few Gs loaded on. I've never seen an autothrottle quite THAT good...
Gideon312
Hmm , I on the other hand misses the ATC line in the HUD and always trying to figure out if it is engaged or not. Sometimes it is sometimes not.
Swift.
Its a long standing bug that after a cold start you need to press ATC twice to engage it the first time. 3 1 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest
ivo
F-14 has automatic carrier landing ( the complete control of plane) instead the F-18 has only the throttle automatic control it is true ? cpu:I7-6700k Z170 16GB Ram DDR4 Gtx 1080 8Gb DDR5 11GBs SSD 500 Gb 2 HDD 1Tb Evga supernova G2 850w Case Bequiet series 800 Silent base Win 10 pro 64 bit My wishlist: F-35/B-17G/F4U Corsair/Yak-3/P-40B Tomahawk

No. - "Don't be John Wayne in the Break if you´re going to be Jerry Lewis on the Ball". In DCS at the moment - yes. ED is working on ACLS for Hornet and approach ATC is part of that system. Let's hope we'll get it in a few months.

The F-14 ATC works realistically while the Hornet one drops power to an unsafe level on approach and does not accurately hold AoA. It should at least work exactly the same way as an F-14's or better because of DECS. The coders need to try out the F-14s in DCS and see the difference. If you set ATC at the correct AoA and trim it holds AoA within pitch/roll changes so you can fly out the approach without touching the throttle. This makes approaches easier for both a runway and carrier approach. The Hornets in DCS drops power and AoA and rubber bands up and down without holding a pure power for AoA. It has DECS which is very very precise IRL and should not rubber band its power.(increase/ decrease power without holding the AoA) [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
