After some initial experimenting (and happyness), I find that there may be one small enhancement that would make this feature even better: being able to copy and paste the line object. It's a small thing (from an UI perspective, not necessarily programming), and it would make using the new marks much more efficient and accessible. Please forgive me if this already exists, and I was merely too stupid to discover c&p functionality myself.
