A performance fix is on the way. I don't know if it fixes the 2.7.7 FPS drop, because I haven't tested it yet. I'll let you know as soon as I perform a new test.

That is encouraging news, thanks for keeping up with this @Flappie.

Gents, it seems the upcoming performance fix does the job just fine on my rig: no noticeable FPS differences between 2.7.6 and the version I've just tested. I feel pretty optimistic. However, as you know already, we all have different rigs with different settings, which means we can't call it a day right now. The next OB update is yet to be announced. I'm looking forward to getting your feedback.

Great news. I wonder where was the knot in that graphic jungle: memory mishandling, hidden loop in the code, double shader generation. I am a  chemist: when we screw up, it just blows up, easy.

If you break out the whiskey you're going to have to wait 8 hours before flying. This is a simulator. 🤪

Seriously? You ask for an update before christmas without explicitly specifying the century and the year ?!  🙈

Good news for 2.7.9

It looks like, that Flappies experiances with 2.7.9 matches with mine.
I already tested 2.7.9 on my main PC and on my last posted third environment.

I repeated the test missions (initial post)

- Main PC:

Stable 2.7.6: 84,775 FPS
OB       2.7.9: 84,785 FPS

- Third Env:

Stable 2.7.6: 43,4  FPS
OB       2.7.9: 43,01 FPS

Thanks Flappie, thanks ED!

Wish you very nice Christmas and a happy new year!🥳

Was it the "water surface rendering fix" mentionned in the last changelog ?

Yes, I think so, since this new water surface rendering effect was introduced in 2.7..7.
