BACKGROUND INFORMATION
--------------------------------------------------------

The MVP KOREA 1952 Combat Server is a PvP multiplayer mission based on the DCS Caucasus Map and situates the main battle-space over the Coastline between Gudata/Sukhumi (BLUE - Allied UN Forces) and Maykop/Krasnodar (RED - North Korean Forces), which closely represents the actual distances flown during the Korean War.

Within the KOREA 1952 Combat Server you can take part in the following activities;

- Fighter patrols (Combat Air Patrols)
- Bombing Strikes (Close Air Support)
- Forward Observation (Target Spotting)
- Transport & Supply Support
- Medivac & Rescue

NORTH KOREAN AIRCRAFT
- MiG15bis
- P51 Mustang (Yak9 Stand-in)
- Yak52

ALLIED UN AIRCRAFT
- F-86F Sabre
- P51 Mustang
- P47 Thunderbolt (F4U Corsair Stand-in)

NORTH KOREAN - MILITARY ASSETS
--------------------------------------------------------

North Korean Airbase - Maykop
Maykop Airbase is home to a range of North Korean, Chinese and Russian fighter squadrons.

North Korean Airbase - Krasnodar-Pashkovsky
Krasnodar Airbase is home to a range of North Korean, Chinese and Russian fighter squadrons.

North Korean Airbase - Krymsk
Krymsk Airbase is home to a range of reserve North Korean, Chinese and Russian fighter squadrons.

North Korean Supply Trains
Operating throughout the northern battle area are North Korean supply trains that are hauling military supplies, weapons, fuel and equipment.  Supply trains deliver equipment and critical war supplies to key railway distribution points, which are defended by anti-aircraft guns.  To destroy a supply train entirely, all carriages must be destroyed.  Trains are ideal targets for Allied P51 Mustangs and P47 Thunderbolts, which will need coordinated fighter cover by F-86F Sabres, to protect against MiG15 attacks. Allied aircraft can target both the supply trains and distribution depots.

North Korean Supply Truck Convoys
Operating throughout the northern area is a network of North Korean supply truck convoys that are hauling anti-aircraft guns, field artillery and infantry to key sites along the conflict front line.  If the trucks are destroyed, Allied forces can stop the establishment of army camps and gun positions.  Supply truck convoys are ideal targets for P51 Mustangs and P47 Thunderbolts, which will need coordinated fighter cover by F-86F Sabres, to protect against MiG15 attacks.

North Korean Sea Port - Ships & Docks
The North Korean war effort is being supported by both China and Russia, who are sending supply ships to the sea-port of Tuapse, which is under North Korean control and heavily defended by anti-aircraft guns.  The sea-port is connected by railway to the North Korean front-line airbase at Maykop.  Critical aviation fuels, military equipment, munitions and war supplies are all supplied through this port.  Destroying the dock cranes, railway distribution centres, and supply ships will cut off valuable supplies to the North Korean war effort.  Ships & Docks are ideal targets for P51 Mustangs and P47 Thunderbolts, which will need coordinated fighter cover by F-86F Sabres, to protect against MiG15 attacks.

North Korean Supply Corridor Bridges
A network of railway and road bridges that run between the sea-port of Tuapse and the North Korean font-line airbase at Maykop are all priority targets.  North Korean Bridges are great targets for Allied P51 Mustangs and P47 Thunderbolts, which will need coordinated fighter cover by F-86F Sabres, to protect against MiG15 attacks.

ALLIED - MILITARY ASSETS
--------------------------------------------------------

Gudata Airbase
Controlled by the Allied UN Coalition, it is home to fighter, bomber and recon squadrons.

Sukhumi Airbase
Controlled by the Allied UN Coalition, it is home to reserve fighter and bomber squadrons.

Sochi Airbase
At mission start, Sochi Airbase is neutral and no allied aircraft can spawn, refuel or repair at the airfield.  Sochi Airbase can be captured by allied forces, which activates allied aircraft slots at the airbase.  Once captured, the airbase is exposed to attacks from North Korean forces, which if successful results in the loss of the allied airbase.

1st Transportation Army Aviation Battalion

Allied Bomber Strikes
Throughout the duration of the mission, Allied A20 Havoc Bombers operating from Sukhumi Airbase will target key North Korean military infrastructure and army field positions, selected at random.  These strike missions are flown at low altitude, exposing the A20's to the threat of MiG15 attacks.

Allied Airfield Heavy Bombing Strikes
Throughout the duration of the mission, Allied heavy bombers will target North Korean airfields, seeking to destroy runways and other key infrastructure.  These heavy bombing strikes are flown at high altitude in groups of 12 or more.  Targets are selected at random.

MVP KOREA 1952 | PVP MULTIPLAYER COMBAT SERVER

------------------------------------------------
No tracking radars, no missiles at 30 nautical miles beyond visual range, no flight control computers, no stability augmentation, no over-G protection - just pilots versus pilots!

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE AN ACE?

1ST AVIATION DIVISION - SQUADRON INSIGNIA
MVP KOREA 1952 | PVP MULTIPLAYER COMBAT SERVER

---------------------------------
The 1st Aviation Division 'GOSHAWKS' now have their very own Squadron Insignia! Named after the national bird of North Korea, the 'GOSHAWK' is a short but wide-winged species of hawk that is said to be incredibly territorial, engaging in short but powerful fights for prey that involve vertical diving and twisting maneuvers.  A fitting mascot for the 1st Aviation Division and their MiG15bis! Sabre pilots beware!  The Squadron will shortly receive its official KOREA 1952 Combat Server aircraft livery pack, which will proudly display their new insignia.

MISSION UPDATE - Version 4a BETA
MVP KOREA 1952 | PVP MULTIPLAYER COMBAT SERVER

---------------------------------
Work continues on the KOREA 1952 Combat Server mission, which when we are completed will provide pilots with an incredibly wide array of targets and missions, bringing our Korean War to life.  We very much appreciate everyone's support and patience as we work through these extensive upgrades:

Mission Time Change - 8:45am to Sunset
The mission has been updated to start at 8:45am, which provides for dusk lighting, and will run through to just before sunset, representing a full day cycle.

Mission Front Line - White Dashed Line
Introduced in preparation for the dynamic front line logic.

Blue & Red Zones
Introduced in preparation for the zone capture logic.

No Mans Land - Black Zone
Introduced in preparation for zone capture logic.

Red Forces Aircraft Spawns
All red aircraft spawns have been configured to represent all of the historical community squadrons.  Each squadron now has available eight (8) spawns, with the following units represented in game:

- DPRK 1st AD
- PLAAF 3rd FAD
- PLAAF 14th FAD
- USSR 196th IAP
- USSR 224th IAP
- USSR 523rd IAP
- USSR 535th IAP
- USSR 913th IAP

UN Railway Supply Trains - 18 Units
Eighteen (18) UN Railway Supply Trains are now operating on the coastline between SOCHI and SUKHUMI, running supplies between 8 Railway Depots along the supply line.  Each train comprises of a locomotive, gas tankers, oil tankers and supply carriages.

UN Supply Fleet Convoy - North and South
We have introduced two supply convoys into the mission, which are utilising the Samuel Chase liberty ships from the WW2 Assets Pack.  YOU DO NOT REQUIRE THE WW2 ASSETS PACK.  If you do not own the assets pack - you will not be able to see the supply fleets.  If you do own the pack, you will see them and be able to interact with them.
