So if you can't really have:
- Beauty without the Beast
- Laurel Without Hardy
- Angels without wings
- Cinema without popcorn
- Love without kisses

.....how can we really have The Spit without the Hurricane.....?

Anyone support this? C'mon folks, back me up here.
Please ED - I REALLY want the Hurricane - to go with my Spit.

Not particularly relevant for 1944 Normandy Map, the Typhoon had by this time replaced the Hurricane for ground support missions.

Would be great for a BoB or Defence of Malta Map, fingers crossed for both of these one day.

Nick Grey has said that the BoB is on the cards. But then he also seemed keen on the F6F… 🤔

DCS Hurricane would be very interesting. You’d think having a Spit and 109 already would make the variants easier/quicker to produce. Of course the German BoB aircraft would also be useful for Barbarossa scenarios with the I-16.

Now the early F4… I think that actually was a BoB aircraft 😉

Frankly, I don't see the reason why we should introduce another allied airplane when we currently have a situation already heavily disproportionate to those of the axis.

We have two versions of the P-51, two versions of the Spitfire, even three versions of the P-47, Mosquito, I-16 and the Corsair is in the works, on the other hand we have the Bf-109, FW-190 A8 and D9, you see if this situation can be defined balanced ....

Obviously without considering the level of attention, quality, different versions, etc ... reserved for allied airplanes while those of the axis have been languishing in oblivion for some time when they would need, especially the 109 and the D9, a substantial update.

No, a new allied airplane is really not needed .....🙄

Single seat Axis just involves endless 109 and 190 variants though… 😑

You mean the BF109F-4? Battle of Britain? Nope. All E models. F didn't see combat 'til early in '41.

No I meant the F4F Wildcat. It’s very loosely a BoB aircraft as the RN had inherited some early models iirc.

What a ludicrous statement! The heavy disparity is something that you will never get away from. Take Europe Germany, Italy vs UK, USA and Russia. You could argue the case even for France, Belgium, Poland aircraft as well.

I agree that we need more Axis aircraft, 109G6, 109E, 190A4... that is it for the German Fighters. I 100% agree that the Luftwaffe aircraft could do with some polish, as does the P-51 visually, and bug fixing. So that means we are on to the Ju87 and twin engine aircraft.

Ju87 and HE111 are not really present in the Normandy Map and as far as I am aware the Channel doesn't really fit with BOB.

So that leaves us the following for the Normandy Map and for arguments sake beyond... Apologies if I miss any, trying to keep it to ones that were of importance and numbers.

Missing AXIS:
Me109G6 & G14
Me110
Me262
Me410
Ju88/Ju188
Ju-52
Do217
Arado 234

Missing ALLIED:
Hawker Typhoon
Hawker Tempest
Spitfire Mk XIV
P-38
P-51B
P-47C
B24
B25
B26
Mosquito B Mk XVI
DC-3
Lancaster
Halifax
Wellington
Beaufighter

I haven't even touched the Russian Front and already! 15 to 8 "missing" aircraft.

I would hope one day the most important of these will at least have an AI.

At the moment what I would personally like to see for the Luftwaffe are the following:

Me109G6Early/Late or Early and a G14
Ju88 Probably the A4

After this does ED have sufficient data to produce the Ju88 let alone the Bf110, Me410 etc...

Assuming that we are excluding night fighter operations for practical reasons, I think you can reduce that list even further by striking out the 110.

Even on the Eastern front in the ground attack role it was withdrawn by 1943 as being inadequate and it was relegated to the Defense of the Reich role where after abysmal performance it was withdrawn from daylight defense of Berlin in April 1944, coincidentally shortly after the P-51 began to escort bomber formations all the way to target and back. The 110 was then only operational as a night fighter.  If we had a BoB planeset and map it would be vital, bit has no place with the current DCS WWII environment.

Similarly the Ju-52 was largely relegated to administrative flights in non combat areas by 1943.

The Do-217 did have two squadrons in Normandy but losses were astronomical and impact negligible so I don't think it would be as high a priority as making a flyable version of the AI Ju-88 we have now.

Even if they’re not flyable would be great to have at least AI versions of the 109F, 110 etc

Oh geez, Mog. I'd say, VERY, loosely! Actually, Martlets didn't get their first kill until December. Christmas day, as a matter of fact.

But I'm a Wildcat fan. The FM-2 especially. If they build it, I'll buy it.

I did say loosely… 😏

FAA did receive its first Wildcats in July 1940 though.

F4F would be a great addition.

What I would love to see would be an Italy/Malta/North Africa map, I think that would be absolutely fantastic such a rich history and a great range of applicable aircraft.

To bring the conversation back to the Hurricane this front was really the last Hurr'i'ah for the aircraft.
