I'll never understand why people think this. Nothing would stop you from setting up a NTTR situation where the F-22 is handicapped, as can happen in real life. If you want to look at the combat side of things, F-22's would be the planes used to face the most dangerous missions. It's capable for a reason, it has to be to survive. We might need a few more modern AI assets, or at least better models of what we currently have (more deadly S-300 and IADS, etc) but the F-22 is only as boring as the rest of the sim in my opinion.

The trailers usually have some dogfighting, let the AI fight itself for some of the scenes. If it's really good I'm sure some interesting footage could be generated.

Not that its on my wishlist, but I bet there will be an official AH-6. Think about it, all of a sudden, mod project was halt and went completely silent. I saw that many times while modding Assetto Corsa cars and oops, they would soon enough pop up again in official DLCs.

Since ED has to sell modules to survive there for sure will be one. But man would I love it if there was only one word appearing from the darkness "CORE". But since that won't happen and a Super Hornet as well as a Raptor seems unrealistic for me I'm almost certain it'll be a full fidelity Mig 29A or early SU27. Wouldn't mind a Starfighter either tho

1. Dynamic weather (and not what we have today that requires a PHd in meteorology to figure out and which only primarily affects wind direction and velocity)

2. Dynamic campaigns

3. Transition to the 3D world while in the ME when placing static/AI objects into a mission

4. Different sea states that are not dependent solely on wind velocity

5. Numbered, assignable parking slots on the carrier deck just like on an airfield

6. .... that's more than enough for now

Cold War holds a lot of appeal on here - but ok, so what…?!

but if Russian legislation and Western classification of 4+ gen aircraft has ED “hemmed in” then mid - late CW modules suddenly looks a lot more appealing.

Mirage F1 is coming, a number of other similar era jets are hinted and we already have a few available

Also if current geopolitical hotspots are too hot - Taiwan, S China Sea, Ukraine / Crimea, then that also could point to a politically “safer” map zone and aircraft set.  South Atlantic could work out as a real gem - I’d always considered Argentina / Chile as a WW2 era stand in for Norway Mossie raids, but it would make a damn good “Northern” Cold War set

I'm through with the hype. There is always something around the corner, another module, another terrain, whatever. We are such gullible beasts, us gamers, enthusiasts whatever you want to call us. ED is not to blame for this, we are. I will watch the video, just like everyone else, I just won't "believe" the way most of you "believe". I was very hyped for the Apache, since the Hind turned out to be so much fun in multicrew. Then the DCS bugs and issues started multiplying and roaring their ugly head once more. Well suffice to say, I don't care anymore if the Apache turns out to be the best thing since sliced bread. I visit these forums daily to check on progress, any progress really that will allow me to return and play without issues. When that happens, maybe I'll be excited for what's coming NEXT.

Some great lists and speculation.

What I'm hoping for is (roughly in this order of preference):

- Further enhancements to the AI (i.e. to reduce UFO flying capabilities and sniper perfect accuracy)

- More AI aircraft, such that we can better flesh out say the WW2 arena.  e.g. the addition of BF109E/F and BF110, B25s etc.

- Zero fighter for the Japanese and some AI aircraft to better fill out the Pacific

- Vulcan, multi-threading and general performance enhancements

- Dynamic weather

- Dynamic campaign

There's a lot of cool inbound modules, but frankly I'm already swamped with what I fly right now.  I'd like to enhance how and where I fly those.

I'd just like to see what we have actually work as they should, and stop breaking every time there is an update. 

I'd like to see the RAF get some attention, seems they are the forgotten faction in this game.  And played very important roles in Desert Storm in 91, and the following engagements up till the surrender of Iraq.

Tornado, any variant relevant to the on hand maps

Jaguar, same as above

Cold War RN Carrier and relevant aircraft.

GB sometimes seems like an afterthought with most flight sims unless it's BoB focused............... 

And I'm a Yank by the way...................... of Welsh decent of course.....

The Phantom is a biggie for some and is definitely needed to fill a gigantic hole from Vietnam into the 2000's with foreign Air Forces.

Major reason why i didn't even bother getting myself into this thread, i could tell from the very early moment i read the title and first lines how this would evolve.

The illusion in which most people are makes me laugh, it's as if those same people have just arrived on the forum yesterday and literrally never read or heard about DCS and the whole subject of classified data/planes/docs to allow any sort of new planes/heli what so ever in the game. Always hoping and wishing for something not in line with the reality of what ED can bring to us.

 

Don't take it the wrong way, but i see you've been registered on the forum since 2009, kinda funny to see you'd "guess" a Super Hornet, F-15C or an F-16D or higher block. A veteran like you of the forum should know very well that those guesses are clearly not realistic at all and just wild wishes. I could go into details of why so, but i guess you can figure it out quite easily

This definition of illusion matches very well most replies i've seen posted in this thread : Illusion, appreciation in line with what someone wants to believe, but wrong in relation to reality.

 

Plus, i'd like to add, we should let ED do their thing, how should we know they are even going to tease any new plane or heli with their End of Year video ? Yeah ok it kind of became a trend the last 2 years i think, but I never looked at it as a set in stone trend that would automatically happen every year. If they do tease a new module, than good, i'll be as happy as everyone, if they don't, none of us should be disapointed, they've already spoiled us quite a bit this year, not counting all that's to come that is already known.

For This I'd suggest having a word with the guys who made the Syria Map. Why make a whole new map, when we can realistically expand one we already have?

To be fair, while the current block Super Bugs are still highly classified, they don't have to do those versions. Most people would likely be content with one of the older blocks, and realistically speaking, it gives ED another aircraft to put on a Super Carrier, so it's not like it couldn't be done, but ultimately, it's their call what gets made and what doesn't.

-Heatblur has an unannounced module being released next year some time.  In order to accomplish this it'd have to be something with much of the assets already done. An F-14B(U) isn't out of the question here too (a lot of recent changes to the F-14's systems and the AIM54C getting an INS and go active on its own would fall into the same documents to make the B(U)), or a Grippen, but humor me for a minute.
-We know Belsimtek was working on an F-4 Phantom before being absorbed back into ED and the F-4 went into stagnation.
-Heatblur is not opposed to working with other developers (TruGrit as an example)
-Heatblur joked and had an uneasy answer on the Air Combat Sim podcast (Episode #22) about the F-4
-Heatblur has laid the ground work for multicrew, AI RIO combat.

What does Heatblur have to do with an ED F-4?

Well, it makes sense for a HB/ED F-4 collab for the above reasons.  I could EASILY see the collab being an ED F-4E/G and a HB F-4J/S using the BST modelling and aero assets already produced with Jester AI being a big part of the contribution from HB.
