Ah, must be accurate then, haven't seen that documentary in a long time 😆

here's the clip. And I was off a bit:

"You've got missiles that can take out a door at five miles without knockin!"

But my statement is still fact: I'd rather it be released in a playable state, then not playable at all.

You young grasshopper 🤣

I’ve been waiting since I first played Gunship on the ZX SPECTRUM 128k in 1986 🤦‍♂️🤣

Oh yes, good old times!

I actually started simming on an Amstrad CPC464 with FighterPilot by Digital Integration back in 1984.

Currently the preorder discount on steam is set to expire on Dec 1.  Are there any plans to extend that date now that the release is pushed back?

It will be updated, we are just waiting on Steam to do so.

I'll get slammed for this, but I am happy knowing it's BETA and getting it now.  Bugs and all.

Yes - It's "obviously" the right decision from various learning opportunities, but even just getting my hands on the key commands to program my joystick logic would be great.

Anyhoo - roll on "two weeks" 🚁

Only thing that I not okay with is that they started collecting money and hyping with videos and then failed to deliver. If they said it in the beginning of the october and started preorder now it would be whole different story. Its obvious that they actually knew, because of only one wags video posted after preorder trailer...

Ah, so you talked to whom at ED, that told you that? Or are you simply making assumptions?

Better statementT would be "To me it seems like..." instead of absolutes that are pulled from thin air?

To me it seems, they were hoping to go Early Access in December, when they said "we hope", but encountered some issues tied into the Flight model, Autopilot, AI stuff, that would make it not very enjoyable. So after the F-16 EA, that got them a whole lot of negative Feedback, they made the reasonable decision, to fix it to a point, where we can enjoy it, albeit with a baseline of functionality.

Though of course I would have hoped(!) for an EA release in early December, so I can enjoy it over the holidays, like everyone else, but I can accept the fact, it isn't ready, yet.

So I will wait and enjoy other modules, while the make the Apache Longbow ready...

Just my personal 2 cents.

correct.

Miles rules can be found here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/miles_rules/

thanks

Are you referring to this rule?

4. For an order purchased with partial ED Miles payment, ED Miles are not granted.

If so, we did not get miles when PRE PURCHASING the Apache, I used $2 of my miles and pre purchased as soon as it was available. Why would we not get miles for you pushing back the early access, since that's what your offering?

Of course, anyone entering into Early Access modules should fully expect not everything will be working at launch, its pretty much the definition of Early Access.

Just making sure you weren't expecting too much from a few weeks delay 🙂

And you don't have to tell me about Early Access I'm just now about to crack open the manual for FA/18, I think it's finally ready to take seriously even though I bough it first day of EA 🙂 . And in another year I'll look at the f-16 and in 2 years the AH-64D. Until then they're just zoom around modules .

Happy flying 🙂

I have a pretty big steam collection myself and no general problem with it - and I also started with DCS on steam.

Anyhow, the moment I learned there was a standalone version of it and I could transfer my modules, it was a split second decision to do so. Never ever did I regret it since.

I would highly recommend it to anybody. Only advantages, no downsides IMHO! 👍

On Topic! Thanks for the extra miles, much appreciated, and whilst I'm disappointed that I won't be able to tinker with it during the holidays, I 100% support the decision!

I also did the same years ago. I figured I'd give that 30% Steam took to ED instead so they could re-invest it in development of DCS.

You are correct. I already wondered about that difference as well.

I hope you are a good learner, the AH-64D is a flying computer

Yeah but you don't need to fully understand all of the systems to just go kill stuff...

If he can figure out the 16 like his name implies the apache will be an easy transition minus the crew coordinated functions.

Yeah. If he learned the F-16C, he can learn the AH-64D.
