1st VFW is now recruiting!

1st_logo.png

The 1st Virtual Fighter Wing is now recruiting.

www.firstfighterwing.com

Who We Are

Founded in 2008, we are an international group of like minded individuals that enjoy combat flight sims. We have members from all over the globe. Over the years we've supported Falcon 4: Allied Force, Open Falcon, BMS, and now DCS. We pride ourselves on the professionalism of our missions while still having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. We support the following DCS modules: F/A-18C, F-14B, AV-8B, and A-10C.

What We Do

We believe the primary purpose of a virtual wing is to make sure there are organized flights for members to participate in so we have recurring weekly standard flights each week with detailed briefings and debriefings. Utilizing real world manuals and our active and retired military pilots, we’ve worked hard to create a “close to real life” atmosphere while still vying to maintain the fun aspects of simply enjoying a simulation title among friends.

When We Do It

Our largest flight is usually our Saturday Weekly Standard flight at 1800z. We also have a Friday Night Mission series (8:30 CST) and there is a European Weeknight Flight (1900z) as well. You can see on our News page some examples of prior events or check out the videos below to see examples of our flights.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on this forum or make a post on our forum. Thanks!

Friday Night Mission Series

Our Youtube Channel and Example Flights:

Aurora R7 || i7K 8700K || 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s || 2TB M.2 PCIe x4 SSD || GTX 1080 Ti with 11GB GDDR5X || Windows 10 Pro || 32GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 2667MHz || Virpil Warbird Base || Virpil T-50 Stick || Virpil MT-50 Throttle || Thrustmaster TPR Pedals || Oculus Rift

MadCatZ Virtual Fighter Squadron

About MadCatZ Virtual Fighter Squadron

MCZ vFS is an organization of virtual pilots who have a love of flying in the DCS World Skies. We come from many different disciplines and backgrounds across nearly every airframe offered in DCS. We offer members in an environment where everyone is welcome to participate at any level (NOOBS AND PRO'S). Our primary mission is to have fun and continue learning while focusing on fun. MadCatZ is filled with a great group of relaxed and seasoned DCS pilots (no ranks or orders will be given EVER). We believe we offer a little bit of everything from airframe training, to custom mission nights, to just being a group where everyone wants to come enjoy themselves.

History of MadCatZ vFS

MadCatZ vFS was founded the beginning of 2019 by a group of friends with a love of flying DCS who have a desire to create a friendly environment where realistic flying, tactics, and techniques are offered with a primary focus on having fun. The friendships and camaraderie we have developed and offer newcomers foster a great atmosphere where virtual pilots want to participate.

MadCatZ pilots have logged many DCS flight hours across mixed backgrounds which allows our squadron to offer a dynamic fun and friendly DCS experience, unlike any other DCS group you will come across.

Anyone who is interested in flying with a virtual fighter group, but may not be ready to commit to the regimented demands and true to life practices many DCS orgs pride themselves on. Then we encourage you to come fly with us! We look forward to seeing you in the skies! Please don't hesitate to jump into our Discord channel linked here https://discord.gg/rM2MuVH

If you just want to hang out and have fun with others and not join up, please click our link as well!

Join a U.S.-based Virtual Squadron flying the F-14B & AV-8B

promo_banner.png

The “Black Knights” are a U.S.-based virtual squadron that has been flying co-op multiplayer missions in combat flight sims for over 15 years. We’re a group of dedicated virtual and real-world pilots who enjoy the teamwork and fellowship that accompanies flying cooperative PvE missions together . Our squadron specializes in Air-to-Ground and multi-role missions, offering a variety of fixed and rotary wing aircraft to choose from.

Squadron members design our own elaborate missions and campaigns in-house, offering something unique and new to fly every week. Unlike repetitive or canned missions hosted on 24/7 servers, our missions feature backstories, online pre-flight mission briefings, and realistic depictions of historical battles as well as fictional ‘what if’ scenarios. If you are looking for a structured multiplayer mission experience that goes beyond what single-player missions and campaigns can offer, this is it!

Having recently completed a tour of duty in the AV-8B, the “Black Knights” are preparing to undergo familiarization training in the F-14 Tomcat... offering an opportunity to fly as a PILOT or RIO in our co-op format. We are now accepting pilot candidate applications to fill a limited number of openings in the squadron for our F-14 FAM training.

Candidates must be willing and able to commit on a regular basis to participating once a week on Monday nights, from 20:00 – 23:30 Central Time with the squadron. Candidates who successfully complete the FAM and demonstrate a commitment to the squadron will be winged and offered full membership.

For more information on joining the Black Knights Squadron, please visit our website.

74th virtual EFS Recruiting A-10C Pilots

attachment.php?attachmentid=209848&stc=1&d=1557210885

The 23rd virtual Expeditionary Wing evolved from the 74vEFS

The original 74vEFS was created in honor of the real life 74th EFS receiving the Gallant Unit Citation during 2017-2018 combat operations in Syria. The 74th was the 5th recipient of the combat award and the first individual unit to receive the Gallant Unit Citation. We quickly expanded beyond the capacity for a single A-10C squadron and are enjoying the expeditionary wing structure flying multiple airframes, mission types and presenting our pilots with a diversity of challenges and learning opportunities.

Update 23 March 2020:

Our leadership team is comprised mostly of military veterans. We've seen a tremendous upswing in active duty, veteran and retired military membership (thank you all for your service!) & we are fortunate enough to have an active duty JTAC - Rusty.

On the civilian side we have some extraordinary real life pilots (private, commercial, instructors) who have sharpened their fangs in the 23rd vEW & have stepped up helping all of us become better virtual pilots - we're grateful to have each of you!

Current Pilot Slots Open:

23rd Fighter Group:

74th vEFS – A-10C – recruiting OPEN

75th vEFS – A-10C – recruiting OPEN

20th Operations Group:

65th virtual Aggressor Squadron - MULTIPLE Secondary assignment for pilots in other airframes interested in becoming ACBT IPs, PvP Competitors or just getting better in air to air. 65th pilots can expect oportunities for flight time in the F5, F-16, F-15, F-18 and more (we don't require our pilots to own all airframes, we adapt and use multiple airframes for adversary training and fun)

77th vEFS – F-16 (flying Hornets until Viper releases) – recruiting OPEN

78th vEFS – F-16 (flying Hornets until Viper releases) – recruiting OPEN

79th vEFS – F-16 (flying Hornets until Viper releases) – recruiting OPEN

347th Rescue Group:

41st vRescue Squadron: UH-1 (since HH-60 is unavailable) – recruiting OPEN

38th vRescue Squadron: Combined Arms Players, JTACs, Controlling AI PJs – recruiting OPEN

71st vRescue Squadron: AI Only

4th Operations Group:

334th vEFS – F-15E – Flying F-15C in the interim - recruiting OPEN

335th vEFS – F-15E – Flying F-15C in the interim - recruiting OPEN

picture.php?albumid=1718&pictureid=10905

All 23rd virtual Expeditionary Wing pilots can expect a variety of training and combat missions in their primary airframe with opportunities to cross train and dual or event triple qualify on airframes (truly exceptional sim pilots are fully capable of mastering multiple airframes over time).

Wing highlights:

--Most of our pilots are active duty, reserve, retired and military veterans covering all branches.

--Real world pilots, instructors

--Diversity of civilian and military backgrounds contributing to the overall knowledge base and participating actively in wing direction (e.g. mission ideas, planning, leading)

--Friendly, laid back environment but we stay squared away for training and missions

--Cross training allowed (each pilot has a primary airframe but can train and qualify on any airframe the 23rd vEW deploys) NOTE: Pilots should reach BMC and be working on CMR prior to cross training

--Flight lead training and qualification is offered and encouraged for all 23rd pilots

--CAS/FAC(A) training and qualification is offered and encouraged for all 23rd pilots

--Skill Board based on USAF AFI11-2A-10Cv1-5 (Hog) & USAF AFI11-2F-16Cv1-5 (Viper) + Army Aviation FMs. Skill board evals via self-assessment, IP assessment (spot checks), squadron leader assessments (spot checks)

--Pilots progression from BMC to CMR via check rides, pilot upgrades and IP evals

--Pilot upgrades include: CAS, CSAR, ACBT, Weapon Delivery Parameters, TGP, LASDT, Flight Lead, S&E evaluator, NVG, IFR, BFM, ACM, BAI, SEAD, EPs

--Pilots can progress as flight leads, Standardization & Evaluation officer, FAC(A) pilots, JTACs, Section lead pilots, and multiple leadership / functional roles within the wing including IPs, CAS/FAC(A) instructor, ACBT instructor, ATC, GCI, Aggressor pilot

--All leadership and IP roles are voluntary

--For A-10C Pilots, completion of the Maple Flag A-10C training results in near CMR rating (Must still complete pilot upgrades relevant to multiplayer). W

--Life/Family come first (we don't just say that, we live it!) We have guys that have been out for serious illness, military deployments and even family situations that are still in the wing (only way we drop pilots is no response on check ins in conjunction with no activity and not letting wing leadership know you'll be gone).

--We're here for the long haul and strive to provide an online squadron home for DCS pilots interested in flying USAF aircraft as close to the real thing as possible in the confines of a sim.

--No drama (the drama queens are long gone and not tolerated here) we're here to have fun and fly simulated combat missions as a group of friends sharing a love of military aviation.

--Honoring the real life 23rd Wing! We do as a hobby what the pros in the 23rd Wing do in real life - we thank them for their service to our country and thank all our member veterans for their service to our country. As part of honoring the real world 23rd Wing, we try to train and achieve excellence in all things CAS, CSAR and any other tasking A-10Cs might be given.

--While our focus is PvE Coop in DCS World, we do have a PvP Air to Air CombatTeam and are always looking for more good dogfighters.

Attack, Rescue, Prevail!

If this matches what you are looking for, head over to our website at https://74vefs.enjin.com/ and fill out the recruiting form.

52nd Independent Knight Squadron

3041280.jpg

Why is our name so cool?

Because the name follows a real world batallion, 52nd Independent batallion, that was lead by an military jet pilot during the war, also known as "Knight".

About us:

We consider that the right way to have fun in DCS is to simulate. And to simulate we mean copy most of the things we can from Real Life into a game. But still, as this isn't a real life and you are not putting billions of dollars with a persons life into risk, we bypass some boring rules.

Everybody in our squadron is a good and knowleable person. Some joined us while making 1st steps in DCS, some joined us after spending years in DCS.

BTW We are an EU virtual squadron.

What do we offer?

We have a Real Life helicopter pilot that really knows how to handle rotatory-wings in DCS and can help you a lot.

Other than that, a big amount of knowledge in Air-to-air and Air-to-ground as well as some other aspects. This knowledge is copied from Real Life and adjusted so it could perfectly fit a gaming surroundigs as DCS is. Yea it is a simulation, but still it is an video game.

Which brings me to next point, if you are not having fun, than you are doing something wrong.

Games are made to have fun!

How does it look when you join us?

This is the hardest part. We have a rigorous "Probation" where you learn, with the squadron leader, how to take-off, land, navigate during high and low visibility etc. You learn (unless you already know) all the info about all the missiles. How do they track, how does the range change, many ways to evade them, types of missiles (both a2a and SAM) etc.

Same thing is for A2G weaponry. You go through all the theory, such as when to use what type of loadout, how to plan it etc.

After that, you learn BFM. Energy and throttle management. What is it, how do different airplanes behave, how to exploit their disadvantages and use your own advantages etc.

Same thing for BVR.

After those basics, you are put into a team-fight. This is the most demanding part. You learn the comms, team tactics, approaching strategies etc.

And once you are done with all the basics, you can finally start learning more and enjoying the DCS with us.

But, before you join us, 2 conditions:

If you can't find a link for Recruitment and post an application on our website, we don't need you.

Also, you have to be 18+ and speak English.

Our website: http://www.52knight.org

We also have our youtube and twitch channel.

See ya in the skies! :D

RECRUITMENT CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO DEPLOYMENT

UK Navalopps

Flying from ships deployed worldwide, the aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm provide the UK with influence over land and sea, and assist in the wide range of roles undertaken by the Royal Navy from disaster relief to landing Royal Marines onto a hostile shore.

UK Navalops

is a friendly, relaxed virtual combat air group for DCS World. Our main squadrons fly the Razbam Harrier. We also have attack and transport helicopter squadron flying the MI8, Black Shark, the Gazelle and the UH1 Huey. Each of these squadrons are based on real Naval squadon within the Fleet Air Arm. We have a rank structure in line with the real royal Navy, where pilots can work their way through the ranks and lead their own squadron.

We use a web based flight logging software using VABase. All pilots are to manually file a Pirep after each flight. This can be for both online and offline flights. all Pireps are to be checked and accepted by Squadron Commanders. Pilots aren't tied to one aircraft type. Here at Uk Navalops pilots can fly any aircraft in out fleet and submit a pirep. So if you fancy an offline Huey flight delivering mail to the carrier then thats fine. Here we focus on freedom and enjoyment.Pilots can fly as often as they like although our main missions are Saturday nights.

801 Naval Air Squadron

We currently have 800 NAS & 801 NAS Flying the Razbam Harrier. We do use all the current maps for DCS

Commando Helicopter Force is active but doesnt have dedicated members, however this could change, numbers permitting.

Dont worry if you have no experience because we have plenty of experienced pilots that will gladly bring you up to speed. plus we dont shove people in a training squadron for three months before they get to fly combat missions.

If you are interested then please go to our website

and fill in the short application.

If you need any more info please dont hesitate to contact me by pm on here.

See you in the skies

Interested to know if there are any New Zealand/Australian based squadrons?

Cheers

AEF 161 do a range of flying in different airframes, both fixed wing and rotary (occassionally) as the demand requires (DDCS missions etc)

229AHB is US based however there is a healthy / active contingent of C Coy participants (Asia/Pacific) who fly mostly Helicopters; Huey mostly, but also Mi-8, ka-50 and gazelle, with the occassional foray into the fixed wing real, mostly in CAS roles (A-10C, AV-8B & FA-18 ) however there are a few who tinker with other platforms as well.

Not forgetting the long running 62nd Fighting Falcons that started as a LAN group flying the SU27 v1.5.... in Brisbane 20 years ago and many of the original members are still there and going strong. They moved to Falcon 4 for a while then when DCS matured they moved simulation. They fly numerous fixed wing platforms enjoying vintage jets as well as modern fighters.

There are some very talented lads in these groups, you wont struggle for find some excellent resources to tap into their collective knowledge bases and improve the quality of your flying and enjoyment.

The State Military

Hi everyone,

Wanted to post a new opportunity for anyone looking to join a DCS milsim lite group. This is The State Military. The State is the beginning of a gaming community with multiple offerings, including a civil airline (SimBuddy via XP11, P3D or FSX), an open, moderated gaming lounge and of course, a DCS military group assembled to include multiple branches and by extension, squadrons.

The State Military is designed to prioritize flexibility, making available several role-based opportunities, such as human JTAC, GCI, ATC and so on, to allow pilots to experience the same, dynamic battlefield in new ways on a mission-by-mission basis. We are 10 strong at this moment and all of us are experienced in DCS and in milsim groups. We have all participated in other wings and milsim groups in the past.

With little tolerance for flashy egos, negativity, exclusion and the like, we place a high priority on positive attitudes and finding people who are a good fit in the group. Most of us are 30 or older, but we're open to making all kinds of new friends.

We are well-organized and well-financed, running a custom website and a rock solid, 24/7 OVH server. Like most groups here, we provide the necessary training and will be patient with people who try hard and commit to a learning attitude.

We are in open recruitment right now and the doors will close (training begins) Sept. 1. We are recruiting pilots for the F-18C, F-14B and the AV-8B. We will also take anyone who wishes to be dedicated to our ground operations (1st MRB).

If any or all of this sounds fun or if you have any questions, please visit our website, join our Discord, PM me here or send an e-mail to me directly at info@statelyfe.com.

Do you want to have fun? Based in Europe? Don't want TOO many rules or be REQUIRED to attend events? This is the sqn for you!

We have a dedicated server up 24/7 waiting for YOU....

1. No rank structure, earn respect

2. No mandatory events, no pressure

3. Must already be able to actually start and fly your aircraft competently

4. Must be in roughly the same time zone (Europe) or, be prepared to fly at unsociable hours

5. Blue aircraft ASM and PFM or EFM only, red aircraft any

6. Missions will be as historically accurate to aircraft type as possible, (no mixing F-86 Sabers or spitfires with F18's, etc)

7. No overly complex missions where nobody actually understands what all the objectives are (KISS)

8. Must be slightly OCD when it comes to aircraft and systems
