So research before trusting your HOTAS to a quick release version. https://www.amazon.ca/Delta-20-622-4-Inch-Quick-Release-Drill/dp/B00004Y9F3 One thing I always did when clamping onto wood was to use some sacrificial thin pieces of wood on either jaw to protect the desk surface.
