MonnieRock
Hello Everyone, Here is my input: Fresh Boot between each run 1 2 3 Fresh Install of Lockon 1.12, No Mods Default High Settings Mirrors High Canopy Reflections nVidia Driver 180.48 Fraps 2.9.6 used for data Started bench in the beginning once flaps reached full down. Stopped bench at the end as airbrake fully closed so we all get the same length of benchmark. Running at 800x600 or your monitor's losest resolution will help us see true function of the CPU. So many sites benchmark other simulations, so rare Lockon is included. Lockon is great to see what a CPU can do !! Let's do our own. All you with faster cpu's please add your results. I would love to see some of the overclocked DualCore,QuadCore and i7 results for the same bench. If you have any questions please ask. If you need me to graph the data no problem. kaos.dll
I try to bench my old and my upcoming system later this day. Old one would be an good old Athlon X2 4800+ with 2GB RAM (XP and Vista x86) and new one will be a Core2Duo E7200 with 4GB RAM (Vista x64). I will overclock the CPU up to 3.4 or more GHz. (if everything works ;)) How do you got those bars? Excel ? How to configure FRAPS ? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MonnieRock
kaos.dll, Thank you for your reply and more so that you want to take the effort in doing this. I appreciate it. Good luck with your new build. Once I finish work, I will try to make another track of my own that will test one of the most difficult areas to render in Lockon, Krasnodar !!! How do you got those bars? Excel ? Yes Sir, I use excel with the data from Fraps. How to configure FRAPS? In my first post, I now have added all the details of how to run the exact bench so we all can get the same data including Fraps setup and Lockon setup. MonnieRock
Hello Everyone, This is the second part of the Benchmark Test I would love to see results from. In this track file, I start FRAPS by pressing F1 once the canopy closed in the beginning of the track to start the benchmark. At the end of the track, once the canopy starts to open, I pressed F1 to end the benchmark. Track file is attached at the bottom. First Benchmark: Default High Mirrors High Canopy Reflections Second Benchmark: Default High + High Visible Range Mirrors High Canopy Reflections Here is my data. 2.73 Ghz 3.2 Ghz Now with High Visible Range Added 2.73 Ghz 3.2 Ghz Please join and add your systems to this. I really want to see what your powerful CPU's can do. Thank you, MonnieKrasnodar_Bench.trk Edited December 10, 2008 by MonnieRock Rack Rig: Rosewill RSV-L4000 | Koolance ERM-3K3UC | Xeon E5-1680 v2 @ 4.9ghz w/EK Monoblock | Asus Rampage IV Black Edition | 64GB 2133mhz | SLI TitanXP w/ EK Waterblocks | 2x Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB | Seasonic 1000w Titanium | Windows 10 Pro 64bit | TM Warthog HOTAS w/40cm Extension | MFG Crosswind Rudders | Obutto R3volution | HP Reverb
kaos.dll
Today my new RAM was delivered. I will setup my system tonight and I hope it will be stable.... For the benchmark: I would prefer to do the benchmark in 1024x768 or 1280x1024 ... My 22" cannot run 2048x1036 ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

The only reason I ran 800x600 & 2048x1536 is to show, there is no difference in FPS, totally CPU limited. zokier
Not really suprising when you have one of the most performant single-gpu graphics-card and a midrange cpu. I might do some benchmarks too, if I remember and have some extra time sometime. Specs: Intel e2140@2100MHz, Radeon HD4850(stock speed) and 2G of ram

Specs: Intel e2140@2100MHz, Radeon HD4850(stock speed) and 2G of ram E2140 @ 2.1Ghz is not optimized As i know, many people can run E2140 at 2.8Ghz to 3.2Ghz stably If you overclock your CPU to...over 3Ghz, a lot of fps will be improved. The performance increase is... ;) Eg: Running an E2160 @ 3.12Ghz with stock fan, i've play LOFC at around 37-45fps on average. If my CPU runs at default clock 1.8Ghz, average framerate drops to around 18-22fps

That is why I am so interested in results from people with the latest CPU's to see the scaling. Please benchmark the Krasnodar Track I attached. I updated my first charts with additional overclocking results. zokier
I did run Krasnodar_Bench.trk in 800x600 and 1680x1050. Suprisingly 800x600 had slightly lower fps. Nothing noticeable really. 1680x1050 800x600 Avg 25.215 24.790 Max 51 47 Min 15 15 No fancy charts here :) Next would be benching different graphics-options. Those should show some difference. btw. results taken from beginning of track to end, full 410 seconds Settings used in attachment edit: A track containg some action and other units would be great too for benching edit2: did a quick bench with higher graphics, results are similar, average fps being 13. And I'm hoping that this machine would run DCS... :( Edited December 12, 2008 by zokier

Run the graphics at Default high. Just click "High" on the graphics tab and 800x600 would be great, run your first. Then, only make one change for the second bench, increase visible range to high. When running the bench, once the canopy closes before take off, start your bench, once the plane has landed, and the canopy opens, stop your bench. Post those numbers, and I will make a chart for you. Once again, thank you for taking the time. You are the first and it is outstanding  post your cpu speed and make/model, I will include that in your chart. JG27_Arklight
*Will upodate when I get this stuff worked out. My results are not reporting correctly (they seem to high to be realistic, so I am going to test further. I am pretty sure I am doing the test incorrectly.). I will report back when I am done.
