dcs bug Biff lands on 21R then taxis across dirt

Toward the tail end of mission 1, Biff lands on 21R, then taxis across the dirt onto 21L. Fortunately he is able to taxi all the way back and the mission ends successfully!

Yeah, had the same thing. I was following him through the HMD and went "what the hell?" when he decided to try out dirt rallying, at least it was funny.  Also tower radioed me after I already landed and told me I'm cleared to land (I was flying below 180, so wasn't landing too early, I think). Just some small annoyances, thankfully the mission played out fine besides that.

I’ve seen this in Zone 5 at Nellis.  It’s a core AI weirdness.

Yep. Noticed that before the release but didn’t find any way to change it. So yeah, it’s just the AI being AI, it does not affect the mission!

FWIW, I just completed Mission 1 and I think I burned more fuel waiting for Biff to land than I did during the flight.  Biff made 3 missed approaches on 21R, and another on 21L before finally coming around and landing correctly on 21L. 
 

Very cool to finally be flying these missions for real after helping out with some very early testing and a voiceover or two. Seeing as how I don’t remember my lines it should be a shocker to hear my voice if my lines made the cut. Thank you BD for finally giving us a proper training campaign for the Hawg.

We have been able to find a workaround that was added in the previous Open Beta update (mid November).

 

Biff should now land and taxi correctly to Thunder.
