Hi all,

I want to share this mod I have created during christmas hollidays.

Mission Enhancer Package (M.E.P) allows you to enhance an existing mission giving you the hability to request support assets in a inmersive way during the mission.

You can request SEAD missions, Buddy lase, Recon target area, etc easily through the F10 radio menu.

it is very easy to install in any created mission and give you better inmersion in the game.

find here how to use it

..And find here how to install it

Find the mod here:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320007/

Enjoy!!!!

For those of you that are having problems with the MEP sounds, I believe that you are doing the copy/paste part with the mission opened in Mission Editor.

If you do that way, the original mission is "in memory" so, as soon as you save it, the Mission Editor overwrite the changes you have done in map_resource file

Check it this other way:
1. Create the mission without MEP
2. Save it and close the Mission Editor
3. Copy the sounds and the changes to the map_resource file (THIS PART MUST BE DONE WITH MISSION EDITOR CLOSED. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!)
4. Open the mission again, add the enhancerScript.lua and save it.
5. changes whatever you want anytime. This time, the sounds and changes to map_resource will not be deleted by the Mission Editor.

Hope this help! ^_^

In the other hand, take into account that MEP is not a mission "per se". It is something to be added to an existing mission (please, make backup of the original .miz file. If you do the MEP "installation" wrong, you'll be able to star again from scratch ^_^)

The mission will work as it worked before adding the MEP, but you'll have the F10 enhance menu, that will allow you to call for support.

You can do the mission by yourself using the ME and then add the MEP to "enhance it". Or you can take any other mission done by other users and downloaded  from the forums. Or you can add it to a DCS pre-existing mission. (usually you can find them in #MAININSTALLATIONFOLDEROFDCS#\Mods\aircraft\#WHATEVERAIRCRAFT#\Missions)
i.e: I have steam version, so I can find my AV-8 pre-existing missions in the subfolders allocated in C:\steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Missions

But, again, do the MEP changes in the .miz file having the Mission Editor closed. Otherwise the Mission Editor will overwrite the changes done outsite DCS. ^_^

Find some clarifications here:

I have fixed some bugs and tuned some parameters. Please download the MEP again.

For those of you that already have "installed" MEP in your missions, just replace the enhancerScript.lua file with the new enhancerScript_v1_1.lua in the star_mission trigger

Thank you for this, this is great.

Can this be changed to enable either Gripen A/G or A-4-E Skyhawk to be spawned for SEAD?
I'm guessing their loadouts will have to be defined.

Hi Bravo!

Maybe in another iteration of MEP ^_^

I was really excited to try this but have fallen at the first. The reason is largely down to my being a Winrar virgin and simply not understanting how to use it to access the Miz file and repackage it once I have done.

I have watched the videos several times to no improvment of my understanding. I find the video moves along at quite a pace and whilst the sub titles are in english, the stuff on screen isnt and happens fleetingly which leaves me not knowing exaclty what was done.

I tried to google re-zipping the miz files but only came up with "I use winrar to access the contents without unzipping and save my changes" - I dont seem to be able to get that far.

Id anyone able to give an idiot a point by point guide on the actual process?

Thanks

hi, you don´t need to unpack the whole thing and re-pack it again.

if you are not able to change the mapResources file directly in the zip, alternatively you can:

Open the zip in a new window

Find the mapResources file in the zip (inside "l10n-> DEFAULT")

Drag and drop it into some location of your harddrive,

Edit it with notepad++ and add the lines, as is shown in the video. SAVE IT

Then, drag and drop from that folder into the zip window again in the same folder where you found it in step one.

For the audios, it's quite the same:

Open the zip in a new window.

Access l10n-> DEFAULT

Take all the audio files

Drag and drop them into the zip window

This is another super addition to the game!

I am curious about the plans of expanding it. Is it possible to have a way to choose the type of planes for ground attack?

maybe choppers?

maybe a way to insert templated convoys on roads between two markers?

I really love this mod, it´s so useful, but it would be even better if it would be possible to re-spawn more flights after the former one have been downed or returned to the airport. I don´t know, maybe I´m missing a way to do it ??  Anyway, very good job 🙂

Ey guys!

Check a glimpse on the MEP v2.0 (WIP) new AH-64 Apache ESCORT option.

It fits perfectly with the UH-60L community mod, and will be great to be used in a mission with any chopper (including the AH-64D Apache module when it is released)

MEP v2.0 will have some great improvements as well, and an easier "installation", thanks to Deadlyfishes advice.

Hope you enjoy it

Could you implement a return to base call or remove unit call to the F10 menu? This way we would not have to wait for a group to return to base until it runs out of fuel or ammo

Thank you 😉

Hi,

it is already planned in M.E.P v2.0 a way to dismiss support units :pilotfly:

Having trouble getting this to work as no flight spawn when requested. 🥺

Could somebody post a simple example mission so I can see how it works and where I'm going wrong please? 🙏

You can call a "strike from the sky" using the STRIKE option in the "enhance" F10 menu. It is pretty similar to calling an artillery strike, but MEP "pretents" to call an AC-130 that will obliterate the marked area.

In fact in MEP v2.0 you will have 2 options instead of 1:

1. Use DO_STRIKE that will obliterate the area where the mark is placed (current functionality)

2. Use DO_STRIKE;Lat_Long that will obliterate the given Lat/Lon coordinates given

If you are interested in use MEP with apache, check the last video on my youtube channel, with the ESCORT option for MEP v2.0 😉

in fact, in the "How to use" video, you have the "strike" option right at the end...
