Currently plugged into my MOBO USB c port, I get about 3 hours.  Is there any way to extend this?  For example an external powered USB 3 hub?  Cheers.

Happy New Year, my brothers.

This StarTech powered USB card worked for me. It kept the Quest charged to around 80% indefinitely.

I'm exclusively using Airlink now though with the Quest Battery strap.

Yep, suits me though, my playing sessions are usually no more than 3 to 4 hours.

I have to wonder what is the appeal in playing wirelessly when one is seated at the desk the whole time. Seems to me I would much rather my display cable be shoved up my GPU's butt ( display port) for best possible experience? Wireless may be decent but will not be as optimum as having that cable running through the GPU display port. Even Oculus Link running through USB port should be better than wireless I would think.

I can see for games where one might be moving around, but seated? I hardly notice I have a cable myself when flying in VR. And I do it for many hours at a time.

Fair comment Don 🙂

Well, wireless is more of a convenience and practicality thing for me. My 1:1 replica Spitfire cockpit is right close to my PC so wired VR was how I started. But I have an eclectic taste in VR gaming and I have also gotten into Motor Racing. My Racing Rig is way on the other side of my gaming room so wired, though not impossible, is just damned inconvenient. Once Airlink matured to the state where there is no perceivable difference in visual quality from Link cable it was the obvious choice for me.

There are the other joys of wireless of course, like playing Beat Sabre or Skyrim outside in the garden on barmy summer evenings 🙂
