which map is easiest on fps?

im looking to purchase my first map. my pc specs arent the greatest and im running vr.

i7 9700k oc 5.0ghz

rtx 2070 super

ram 16 gb

all ssd

rift s

i run the default caucasus map pretty well on high terrain textures at 80 fps. i just dont wanna end up with a map thats unplayable since refunding probably isnt an option here. i read that NTTR is pretty easy on low\mid tier rigs. thanks either way. O7

You know you can try them for free? Also, how's the Marianas doing? That one is totally free, and the most heavy one.

yesss it really is a bastard of a map and surprises me too because they are just islands. but i just now activated the hind as i hear that its a hog to run on vr.

im planning to buy the apache so if i can manage the hind on a "forgiving" map i think my apache "should" be ok. im going to activate the NTTR since thats what i read that people say its the lightest. or at least one of the lightest maps to run. fingers crossed

NTTR if land-only, Marianas for sea-only

fps (only map, no ground units, single player) and not free, NTTR > PG > SA. Then Syria,Channel and Normandy perform pretty much the same. In MP, best map still NTTR and worst is Syria.

But, for me, best map is Syria by far. Not huge fps loss but the map is just awesome. Good for both helis and fixed wings.

Well, just find out that some time, Caucasus can be worse than down town Beirut.

Sorry, even Syria is very good for what it is, NTTR is still the top when it comes to best fps. And The Marianas is not the worst, either.

Nevada is sparsely populated, it's mostly desert and mountains. The only area where it's a bit on the heavy side performance-wise would be around downtown Las Vegas and the Harry Reid International Airport there.

PS: By the way, my hardware specs are very similar, but with an NVMe card instead of SSD disks and 80 GiB RAM. Runs quite smoothly most of the time. More RAM helps a lot, with DCS multiplayer sessions, the system sometimes runs with some ~45 GiB RAM in use.

I think Nevada is giving the best performance, it is beautiful in High Alt and it is the worst in low Alt (it didnt receive any update in last 6, 7 years though !)
Syria is the most beautiful ME region and worst performance currently
Channel is amazing, the performance is really nice and its extremely beautiful
Persian Gulf has acceptable performance and graphically is way better than Nevada

I recomend install more RAM, at least 32.
