Since the change log from the 30348 Open Beta, there was no entry about why "Alt+Enter" was removed.

According to my ED ticket and ED support team responds:

I thought that ED removed it because of VR, and I guess not....

Whatever was removed, definitely not the Windows feature. My best guess is, they adjusted the request to the windows ressource mgmt and/or changed the chaining of the "Updater" calling the Simulation?

My question is that the removal does help the perforamce in the DCS world overall.

I agree that the retriction is to control the resource and try not to repaint the graphic due to resize the application window and recaluate the objects inside the application window (i.e. buttons, switches... etc)....

Guys, can't you take this alt+enter discussion into a separate thread.  There have been pages on it and dozens of emails pinging through to everyone.

I don't mean to be rude, but I think it would be more appropriate outside of this main Patch Notes thread.

Yeah probably best to take a feature that was removed in a DCS update out of the DCS update discussion thread.  :renske:

No worries on my end, I have gone in and reset and recalibrated my Point CTRL unit to accommodate for this removal by ED so I should be good to go unless they go in and change things around yet again. I do not know yet if there is going to be an issue with my mouse cursor staying in the window properly now, hopefully not. I hope to be resuming flying again here soon from my spine surgery.

Carry on,

This will probably be patch 2.8

We will get the M399, F15, Corsair,Marianas WW2, new clouds, new dogfight AI. Multicore support.

Also my second fantasy book will be called; And other things you can only dream of.

It would be nice if someone from ED could confirm that the INTENDED update for tomorrow will be the 2.8, that way, if not, we will be ready

2.8 is planned for tomorrow if final checks are good.

As for its contents you know from the newsletter we have some weather improvements coming, I would suggest waiting for the full changelog for other details

thanks

Not to sound snippy BUT how many resources were spent on clouds / weather that could have been put towards performance? I am asking for others because my DCS is smooth as a baby's bottom 😇

Throwing twice the amount of programmers at a task, doesn't half the time needed, but doubles it. 😄
Speaking from experience.

Sometimes we have customers that are willing to pay double to shorten the developement time, but the answer is always the same: "It doesn't scale like that...." 😆

The only fear I feel is that each time there is a big improvement in the graphics (either on the clouds or on the ground) the fps in VR becomes a pain, so I cross my fingers that once I deceived

In short, I must remain positive and confident, in the meantime, thank you ED for this work👏

My fear also I'm on the low end for playing VR with my system.
