But the mistake is actually: why are there more switches than the incr/decr for the engine, which is quite lonely with the copilot collective?

It shouldn't be there at all!!!
One of the huge (besides many more) flaws in the Huey interior model.
The co-pilots collective is a completely different piece featuring only the starter trigger and the RPM INCR/DECR switch. (Hydr emer Sw on some models)

I doubt they will do a complete redesign of the co-pilots collective anyday soon, but maybe they will consider just moving the switch ( although I doubt that too actually ).

Maybe ED will surprise us with a complete overhaul sometime, and bring it to the same 3D model level as the upcoming Apache.
