Solution Carbon715 Posted January 31, 2022 Solution Posted January 31, 2022 So position you EGI knob to Nav ( alignment knob)
AngryViper.101 Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 Hi, okay it seems to work, but i could have sworn i was flying and it was in Nav mode with a red dash through the range (top left) even though i had a waypoint selected ... i7-11800H @ 2.30GH | 16Gb 3200MHz | GeForce RTX 3060 | Samsung 1TB SSD | KINGSTON 520GB SSD
Frederf Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 This happens after a normal alignment in which the initial L/L are not confirmed. Try it by aligning to a ready state (status 50 is plenty for this demo) without any ufc entry and changing to nav. You'll notice the HSI range is flagged. Then try it again the same way but using UFC ENTR to confirm latitude and longitude in the first two minutes. When switching to nav the HSI range will read correctly.
Rakamora Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Is there any reason to do a standard alignment over stored heading?
Frederf Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Normal is higher quality in some regards even 10 compared to 10. Plus a stored has to be prepared. The INS is aligned fully and shut down without flying and then the airplane cannot be moved at all.

Frederf Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 If it is it would be so small that noticing might be hard. I think I did some GPS off drift checks and it looked like there was a difference in at least station keeping. I didn't dozens of tests to rule out RNG though.
Rakamora Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 And when we are on the subject HSI. Shouldn’t you be able to center heading bug to current heading by pressing headingbug selector? And is there a way to make the autopilot intercept a radial using the courseline selector? I’m guessing there is not but wanna make sure.
Frederf Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Not that I know of. The push on the knob is to access the rare inflight alignment heading adjustment. Maybe it's a feature added later? AP roll channel just does heading bug, bank hold or direct to INS.
