No Fuel on any setting except the left wing tank

Trying to fly one of the missions (the very first one, escorting bombers) and well into the flight, I decided to switch tanks to the right side. Shortly after, the engine quit. I immediately switched back to the left tank, and everything worked fine. Sorry that I forgot to check on the fuel gauges before I started, but I am assuming that my plane has been fully fueled up before escorting bombers over Germany.

Any reason for that?

Check two things:

How much fuel do you start with (anything below 68% and the fuselage tank is not filled)

Are you 100% sure you switch to the right one and not center one by accident?

Well, my bad, but as part of a DCS  included mission, I guess I assumed I was fully fueled, so I have no idea what I had on board. I know from flying the P-51 in other venues that you always start on the left tank due to overflow details. I will double-check before I start the next mission attempt.

However, I also know how to use the fuel switch, and I knew I was switching to the actual right-hand tank. I een went os far as to turn the fuel boost switch on before moving the switch to the right side. The only way the engine would run is on Left! I will go back and be more observant next time. I will also make sure to fuel up my own aircraft if possible.

I just (tried to) fly the same mission again, and as part of my preflight, I checked the fuel, and both wing tanks were full, and the fuselage tank was empty. There are no wing tanks. Now it appears I am having intermittent problems with the throttle side of my Logitech X-56. As I was attempting to join up with the flight, the throttle, mixture and prop controls stopped working. It seems the controller just stopped. Had to reboot, but I'm thinking now that the throttle is crapping out on me and I might have to switch over to my Honeycomb TQ to complete any missions.

Wish I had bought the Warthog instead of this thing. JUst had problems with two different Logi mice, and I'm starting to think that Logitech has stopped making dependable products.

My X-56 was acting flaky with the P-51D too. Got everything assigned and tweaked just right, saved the profile, then analog axis inputs stopped working - no throttle or engine RPM, but all non-axis inputs (throttle switches) worked fine. Both analog and discrete worked fine on the stick. Restarted the sim and everything worked okay.

Then in flight I experienced your fuel problem too. Had plenty of gas in both wings, fuselage empty. (Should've put gas in the fuse, but was in a hurry to get up just to check X56 mapping - hadn't flown DCS since 3 Dec last year). So... got airborne, flew around for a couple minutes over Guam, then checked the left tank. It had dropped 5 gal or so so I swapped to the right to keep balanced, and the engine sputters and dies. Swapped fuel back to the left but ol' Merlin wouldn't catch. Checked gauges again, plenty of gas, both tanks. Feathered the prop, dropped the gear and started looking for a suitable stretch of terra firma but was already too low over a wooded area and ended up buying the farm. Farm with a smoking hole...

I'm gonna fly the Mustang again tonight and play with the fuel tanks.

I'll let you know what happens.
