Each map needs a default coalition list with differnt factions

The default list would consist of factions that are found in the theater or an expected scenario

for example Nevada by default would be USAF agressors, the US, other NATO members and Japan.

The Caucus map's list would be Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbijan

I would like to see a  'save as' option so we can make our own custom lists..

If you could have multiple custom lists in place to select from the drop-down menu - and the fact that this isn't the case is somewhat baffling really - it would be no problem at all to just name them for your various theatres or scenarios I guess.

We should just be able to save multiple presets, and give them unique names.

 

Though personally, I wish we had a similar coalition/side system to C:MO, but that's something else entirely.

How about the topic at hand with a preset map for each theater instead of just WWII and modern? I'd love the ability to save lists and have more defailt lists

You can accomplish the same thing with multiple user defined presets where you can set unique names. Though, yeah sure it would be nice to get presets that are map specific.

Though again, the problem with DCS is that it's side/coalition system is very limited, with maps like Syria having way more than 2 'sides' (even if you just count nations), so making map specific presets might be challenging, unless you include multiple different ones, but then you might as well just have multiple custom user presets.

For example, the Caucasus has Russia, Georgia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania on it, but go into the Cold War and you've got the USSR, the PRB (not present in DCS), the RSR (not present in DCS) and Turkey.

Then there are maps like the Marianas, which only has 1 country actually on it (USA).

That is true the coaltions list needs to be worked on, though simply having the ability to filter nations in the theater would be main point

Outside of WWII  the only possible scenario I see with the Marianas would be Naval battles
