Darpa
In todays stable update changelog it noted "VR. Added Free Cam Mode". I can not see any other reference to this (sorry if I have missed it somewhere). Does anyone know what this exactly means? Thanks

A.F.
This is how it has always worked ! What has been improved after the last update. It would be great if you don't have to set the direction with the mouse, but if you go in the direction you are looking.
AlpineGTA
Yes, I asked the same question in that thread above. I also asked in the OB patch notes discussion thread but didn't receive an answer. If it's always worked as described then I'd like to know what's new or improved to warrant mention in the patch notes. I'd never tried Ctrl+F11 in VR before seeing the VR free cam mentioned in the patch, so I don't know if anything is different or not. I have noticed that when you're sat in the cockpit in VR and you press Ctrl+F11, the cockpit changes to a much lower poly, more simplified cockpit, presumably to use less frames and resources to make it easier to move around. But whether it's always done that or not, I don't know. i5-11600K CPU, 64GB DDR4 RAM, XFX Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon 6900 XT, Oculus Quest 2, HP Reverb G2
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants
I am not sure if LCTRL+F11 was a working free cam or not before last OB in year 2022. Once I hit the LCTRL+F11, I can use my mouse scroll wheel or LALT + Num / or * to move the cam drifting automatically. If this is not, well I dunno. VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants -- this is how I fly. A.F.
I tried it again today in an F14. In my opinion, nothing has changed. If you seat in the F14, then the outdoor model is not complete. Probably to save resources. This is also the case in the Gazelle. If I click Ctrl+F11, then the outside model is complete. It would be nice to go where you are looking with the HMD. Not with the mouse wheel
average_pilot
There is this ctrl+f2 camera that I didn't know about before, so I'm not sure if it was already there, but it seems to be similar to the free camera but attached to the frame of reference of the object. I wonder if this is the one that the changelog refers to.
