TL;DR:

This is due to a change in how warnings are given for descending through the set barometric altitude.

Detail

Crossing the Altitude threshold triggers at +1000 ft and -300 ft of the set altitude to warn of breaking an altitude "floor" or potential CFIG (controlled flight into ground).

This altitude warning does NOT require the autopilot to be turned on.

With the desired altitude set at zero (as in your track), the altitude gong sounds because

AFAIK (discord), this new behaviour is intended.
